If you read the piece I posted at the start of this thread, you will realize that in the late 1950's the GOP began to embrace white supremacists and the Democratic Party carried the civil rights torch. Politics can quickly change the political landscape. Unfortunately, most who participate in this forum do not bother to read history. They just like sound bites and ignore facts.
We've been beating this same drum in here for years. When these Republicans keep "informing" us it was the democrats behind things like secession and slavery and carpetbagging. They keep forgetting to mention that the democrats then are the republicans now (that is, if they even knew that in the first place). Scum doesn't change their stripes, just what name you call them by.

So people should remember that when republicans say these evil things were done by democrats, they're confessing, because these democrats were their original party.

So you don’t know about the Dixie democrats who are so steeped in the inglorious racist history of the south that they could not bring themselves to join the Republican Party even though their attitudes and voting patterns put them on the right wing of that very party when race relations and emancipation issues were being legislated.
Now you decide if your ignorant or disingenuous
Please read the following summary of how the GOP and Democrats flipped on civil rights.

Now, why don't you try showing me some heavy weight GOP pols that were vicious racists. Try it. Don't shoot your mouth off, try it,
