@fornichessate removed their quoted postNorway has had a wealth tax since 1892 but levies no inheritance taxes. Don't know where you got your information but:
"Revenue from it [the wealth tax] has climbed despite the exodus and now sits at 0.6% of GDP"

@fornichessate removed their quoted postI have been looking into moving there to enjoy their economy and laid-back society, it would be just right in retirement age as one does not have to work there, and I have worked as a rugged individualist for all these years. But it was worth it, the joy of self-reliance. I would let netherlands take care of me from here on!!
But, you may cause me to change my mind with this info.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidaaaahhhhh,l the joy of efficient public services!!!!
The Netherlands rocks.
A strong, progressive, and welcoming culture. Excellent work-life balance, low crime rates, and efficient public services.
Edit: And gave the world Famke Janssen.
I cannot FATHOM creating a phrase like that. creepy. Shav will be all over over it.
@fornichessate removed their quoted postNorway's GDP is about $500 billion in US dollars (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?locations=NO) so if the wealth tax generates revenue per year at 0.6% of GDP that's about $3 billion US.
I've seen nothing supporting claims that wealth tax revenue went down recently as you claim and the articles I found say the opposite despite some of the wealthy leaving the country.
@fornichessate removed their quoted postYour statement is somewhat conflicting, as being self reliant can easily mean that you are providing for yourself. So if I sell a load of bricks to a contractor, he will give me $5000. I scrounge up the bricks sold them to the contractor as my work.
So please make it clear that you are not telling everyone that when I did that that I was “working for someone who gets richer”.
You see the liberal viewpoint here ,and maybe that of yourself, is that the contractor will use those bricks to build houses and make several million dollars a year. That contractor in this case is the someone who gets richer., according to your post.
I make $150,000 a year selling bricks. So, clarify your statement that I am working for someone who gets richer (richer than I am) while I only make $150,000 a year. That is what you are saying, or please rephrase.
Am I working for someone else?
@fornichessate removed their quoted postNot sure if you are legally permitted to fly (or if airfares are affordable on Social Security) but have you ever been to the Netherlands?
Been there several times over the years. Great country, Friendly locals.
What they decide to do with their taxes is none of your business. That's my position.
@AverageJoe1 saidYou prefer to post that people evolved from gorillas.
