I think it is more about how Fort Detrick does it's job. The danger of all these labs on humanity is newsworthy.

Dr. Ralph Baric created SARS2 in the U of NC lab. I think that is very newsworthy.

And just as an aside, the first case of COVID in USA was on Jan 19, 2021, a traveler.
China had beat that by months. How's the math working?
