"Another weird story out of El salvador. Their government has agreed to accept deported US citizens."

US illegal aliens...why are you lying?
I read the link and it actually sounds like any prisoner of any nationality.

no , it is not a US territory
It is US in the sense that the US leased it and is under their control. No Cuban can go there.

England sent their criminals to Australia....
Yes and in those days it was all one, ie the British Empire, so I guess legally it was fine. I guess once you can get over the legal hurdles it should be ok to send murderers and other life in prison inmates off to South America. I would be cheaper and it might deter some criminals. South American jails are not fun.

Why is it a good deal? It seems like it would be inevitably bogged in legal challenges and ethics laws that would be prohibitively expensive to scale up

We currently spend $540 million per year to maintain Guantanamo. It houses 40 people.
If you think that's all the base does you are seriously naïve.

ElSalvador DID say they would accept them.

Rubio DID NOT say he would send them as wilgrass stated.

Do you not understand what a US territory is?

Marco Rubio specifically mentioned that El salvador was going to accept American citizens.

Its a good deal because it costs about 50,000 to 300,000 US dollars per inmate in a max security prison in the US. Im pretty sure in most parts of the world it is 10% of that. Anyway not all good deals can be taken.

Sounds like the US should close down GB or make use of it. Apparently Turmp sent down some military personel and some workers to fix the place to house the 30,000 illegal immigrants. So finally, it will be of use. Thats a good move.
Yah I don't think that offshoring criminal justice will save money.

Yes and there are many more dollars spent there that arent in the official books.

So far you made 2 posts about this trivial matter and you did not say what US territory is. So maybe you dont know either.

All the US citizens Trump plans to deport with the undocumented migrants.

Simple way to ensure that a Republican wins in 2028. Taking almost that many off the voter rolls wasn't good enough for him.

Current estimates say that he'll have to deport over 10 million US citizens to get there, though. He claims there are 20 million of them, but nearest estimates say 11 million. That means he plans to deport up to 9 million US citizens and will likely hit his magical 10 million mark by 2028.

Rubio never said he would send American citizens to ElSalvador...THAT IS A LIE BY WILDGRASS

What he said...

""We can send them and he will put them in his jails," Rubio said of migrants of all nationalities detained in the United States. "He's also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentences in the Unite ...[text shortened]... al challenges.

Newsflash: Trump, and therefore his entire administration, lies.

So far his press secretary and all his cabinet appointees have so far lied almost as much as Trump has.
