Another weird story out of El salvador. Their government has agreed to accept deported US citizens. Uh, wait what?
"We will send them and he will put them in his jails.." - Marco Rubio

@wildgrass saidThere is a whole lot of these jokes and half-truths on social media about these events. There is one where the Nigerian President said that in response to Trump deporting illegal Nigerian immigrants, he will also deport all US citizens and seize their bank accounts and assets.

@wildgrass saidIts a good idea. Let another country handle the violent criminals. A good deal for America.

@Rajk999 saidWhy is it a good deal? It seems like it would be inevitably bogged in legal challenges and ethics laws that would be prohibitively expensive to scale up

We currently spend $540 million per year to maintain Guantanamo. It houses 40 people.

US illegal aliens...why are you lying?

US illegal aliens...why are you lying?
" He has offered to house in his jails dangerous American criminals in custody in our custody, including those of US citizens and legal residents."
Marco Rubio

I always wonder why you so stupidly claim other posters are lying when it is so easy to prove they are not.
@no1marauder saidRubio never said he would send American citizens to ElSalvador...THAT IS A LIE BY WILDGRASS

What he said...
""We can send them and he will put them in his jails," Rubio said of migrants of all nationalities detained in the United States. "He's also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentences in the United States even though they're U.S. citizens or legal residents.""
further...
"After Rubio spoke, a U.S. official said the Trump administration had no current plans to try to deport American citizens, but said Bukele's offer was significant. The U.S. government cannot deport American citizens, and such a move would be met with significant legal challenges.

@wildgrass saidIts a good deal because it costs about 50,000 to 300,000 US dollars per inmate in a max security prison in the US. Im pretty sure in most parts of the world it is 10% of that. Anyway not all good deals can be taken.
Why is it a good deal? It seems like it would be inevitably bogged in legal challenges and ethics laws that would be prohibitively expensive to scale up

Sounds like the US should close down GB or make use of it. Apparently Turmp sent down some military personel and some workers to fix the place to house the 30,000 illegal immigrants. So finally, it will be of use. Thats a good move.
