Election Dollars

Where do they go? Did they help the economy in any significant way? The CA gubernatorial campaign was supposedly very expensive. Did that money trickle anywhere or was it a lump sum handed over to a small group of people?

Much of the spending is on TV and radio ads -- so the money goes to the folks owning the TV and radio stations. Not sure if very much of that trickles down.

It depends on how you define "helping the economy".
