We were celebrating in my office as we watched the live feed from the Washington Post. If anyone had thought to bring champagne, the corks would have been a-poppin'. I may not have agreed with him, nor was I able to look past his whoring, but at least he had the stones to resign instead of waiting to go on Oprah and tear up while shilling his new tell-all book.

Did you celebrate, drink champagne, &c during the Larry Craig incident? How about when
Republican Illinois Governor George Ryan was convicted of corruption? What about Republican
Ohio Representative Bob Ney's confession and subsequent conviction?
I simply don't remember your comment gleefully about any of those in this forum. Why is that?

The biggest problem I have with spitzer, is that he made his reputation going after prostitution rings. He was absolutely ruthless with them, spouting off about how we should hold our society to a higher moral standard.
The type of prostituiton he was involved in was essentially a victimless crime. The women there make upwards of $1500/hr (hardly skanky granny), and from what I understand, many are graduate students or college students. There is no pimp waiting to bust them in the face when they fail to bring back enough money, no one plying them with drugs, and no one being held against there will.

This thread seems to just be a bunch of guys saying "Hey it looks good on him!" As if he was a bad person who finally got what he deserved.
How so?
Why are you people happy? Do you enjoy watching the misery of other people? Is there nothing going on in your lives? Are you that out of touch with reality that you can't just ignore it and move on?
Why are you all so happy people found out he paid for sex????
Wackos, the lot of you! 😞

He risked his otherwise amazing political career on something as stupid and frivolous as an overpriced hooker, and he got caught by the very same regulatory mechanisms that he helped put into place.
That's funny.... get off your high horse and admit it. I don't have anything against the guy, but you have to appreciate the irony.
Originally posted by uzlessI don't care who got caught. I'm laughing at the situation. Actually thought the men's room guy was funnier.
