@spruce112358 saidSounds good to me.
The official religion is 'Christian' and the official sexuality is 'straight.' 😆
The official skin color is 'white' and the official gender for public officials is 'male.' 😆
Now shut up.

Maybe they listen to Paul and yield to their husbands. They will have no excuse.
I still go to church. I treat it like work, I don't speak politics there, either.

For all you God haters (Republicans?), just ignore me. Move on, nothing to see here.
Yes, I agree.
Maybe they listen to Paul and yield to their husbands.
I think it's more of a cult thing. However, I'm sure they love that Scripture. Also,
[1Peter 5:5 NKJV] 5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to [your] elders. Yes, all of [you] be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."
It's clear to me and many others that we are to submit ourselves one to another.
When Paul wrote that I believe he was having problems with some of the wealthier women of Corinth; and keeping the church together there. We really don't know the full context intended here 2000 years later.
I don't speak politics there, either.
That's impossible where I currently live.
But my church is the Episcopal Church of America. They run a bit more liberal than the bigger churches, especially the "evangelical" ones. We have women pastors, even women bishops,
Yes, I have gone to a couple Episcopal churches in passing; I found them pleasant and acceptable. However, where I now live even many of them are the same way.
They have a much nicer Book of Common Prayer, though. Try one out, you might like it.
I will look it up; thank you. 🙂
@Suzianne saidIn my jobs I have sometimes to build stuff. I found metric to be a lot more intuitive, I didn't have to add 3/64ths and 2/8 to come up with a reading.
Americans (except scientists) are too stupid to use the metric system.
Change is so SCARY!!
So is having a president that doesn't lie, apparently.
I go 123 mm plus 34 mm 157 mm, job done.
@AverageJoe1 saidThere are about 7100 languages in the world.
Then, What is stopping us, the USA, from having the website in all 190 languages of the world. You are silly as usual. No logic. You have no logic.
And guess what? Steady yourself, because I'm going to delve into a shade of gray that your black/white, one/zero, 2-stroke intellect will have great difficultly grasping, but we have to start somewhere.
But before I continue, I want to know: do you really not see the absurdity of your own post, and how its very criticisms could be directed back toward itself? I think you are not "debating" in good faith. You're just spewing absurdities like a bot. But why? What emptiness are you trying to fill in your waning years with all the time you spend here vomiting pure nonsense to an audience that largely despises you? Is the constant inane chatter you engage in holding grievous introspection at bay, day by day, as you sleep walk toward the grave? Is hate and hurt all you've got left?
Ah well. Onward.
So here's the shade of gray: it's not necessary to have a website for every language in the world. Between 1 and 7100 there are a lot of other integers, and a simple, objective cost-benefit analysis can be relied upon to arrive at some small number greater than 1 but much less than 7100 (or even 190). To think it's got to be "all or nothing" in this context is the very quintessence of silliness and illogic. You project your own cognitive dissonance, lack of reasoning skills, and sheer hyperpartisan foolery onto others.
You decry being personally attacked on this forum, but here's the thing: you have no coherence in your messaging. You're hollow. You offer no substance in anything you say, and contradict yourself thirty times a minute. So there's nothing about you that can be addressed reasonably save for your own terribly flawed, monstrous, id-driven persona. That's all you are: a dark cloud of hate-lightning and bluster-thunder, and therefore that is precisely what gets reflected back to you by almost everyone here.
I know I've said it before, but I really do feel very, very sorry for you.

@AverageJoe1 saidThere's nothing broken, really, about the way languages are handled in this country.
Now we have Marauder sahing a country should NOT have an official language. I will not even bother him with 'why',,,,but, why do progressives feel like they have to change somehing every 20 minutes. But given that they do, why can't we officiate the language?
There is a quote attributed to Charlemagne that goes as follows: "To have another language is to possess a second soul." It means that by learning a new language you gain a new perspective and way of understanding the world, essentially giving you a different identity within yourself.
But even if you only know English, there is little reason to go out and vindictively endeavor to stamp out other languages being spoken in the US, or punish people living in the country who happen to not know English well enough to rightly apprehend government and legal documents that native English speakers often have to study hard to make sure they understand fully. It's going to save the country nothing, produces still more ill will toward us, and throws up barriers that further isolates us from the wider world.
@Cliff-Mashburn saidSo why make it official? Why so insecure and insular?
English has always been our language, official or not.
.
@Sleepyguy saidActually, no.
They'll come around 🙂
And our imbecilic refusal to get with the program and learn something so simple as metric, aside from making the US a laughingstock, also costs us dearly...
When NASA Lost a Spacecraft Due to a Metric Math Mistake
In September of 1999, after almost 10 months of travel to Mars, the Mars Climate Orbiter burned and broke into pieces. On a day when NASA engineers were expecting to celebrate, the ground reality turned out to be completely different, all because someone failed to use the right units, i.e., the metric units! The Scientific American Space Lab made a brief but interesting video on this very topic.

BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE SAID.
Because you're insecure and insular. Maybe lacking a bit below the belt as well...
@Cliff-Mashburn saidBe happy you're all not speaking German which may have happened had the German's won the 2nd world war. If Putin is allowed to continue where will he stop???

He's a liar and a fool.
Did you see that Zelensky just stormed out of the White House without signing any mineral deal with Trump? All your false posts, Threads, and claims, that Trump was going to stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine, war. Nothing but more lies from the liars; it's all lies; everything they say is a lie.
