What ever happened to these people who took over Columbia University like happened at the Capitol? Is there uniformity in the application of law in the lib world? The people who sat in front of an abortion clinic in Nashville, you're getting a 10-year prison sentence.
The only diffeence I can see is that Trump was highlighted in the Capitol thing. Am I wrong? Seclective process, is it? At whose behest?>
@AverageJoe1 saidAnother difference is one event was trying to violently intefere with an election and the other was not.

@AThousandYoung saidThankyou , appreciate your thinking. I just did a quick search of what Columbia deal was about, as I do not follow maniac protesters or their thinking, and cared not about 'why' they do not like Israel. I do, so I don't care why they don't, I hope that makes sense.
Another difference is one event was trying to violently intefere with an election and the other was not.
So I can easily set aside what the riot was about, and say to you what I have linked here. It was not of the magnitude of the Jan 6 deal, so, yes, you are right, that it was not as big as Jan 6.
So the question is, at what point (given imprisonments DID happen as a result of Jan 6) would the authorities say that a riot about hating jews and israelis does not warrant some prosecution.?? You think these protesters should walk free without at least being penalized for what they did to this hallowed institution?
And do you Columbia should be compared to Jan6. In my opinion, one has nothing to do with the other. They both should be dealt with under the law. And Columbia protesters broke the law, even if only trespass and loitering and littering. These carry fines, good fellow. I say fine them. You ?
And I totally respect that one destructive process was worse than the other.,
Protesters at Columbia University, where the epicenter of demonstrations began last week, said they won't disperse until the university agrees to cut ties with Israeli academic institutions and commits to a “complete divestment” of its funds from entities connected to Israel, among other demands, as the Israel-Hamas ...Apr 24, 2024

So, that will automatically carry higher punishments.
It’s not rocket bloody science.
And as for the protesters at universities… being pro-Palestinian does not equal being anti-Jewish. As a side point. But it needs pointing out.
@AverageJoe1
There is no doubt that there is a pro-leftist favoritism in the DoJ. No doubt at all
@shavixmir saidCorrect. And one would carry higher punishments, a given.

But all I said was, why was the 6th punished, but not the Columbia riot? I ask the SIMPLEST questions and am constantly put off by contrarians!! I could scream.
YOU have resorted to saying 'how much' each fracas should be punished. But don't answer my question as to why Columbia was NOT punished. I could scream again. The Suanne person will be upset with you for not answering questions.
Haha. it is DEF not rocket science. Unn, maybe YOU could answer?

Maybe because it was violent? Maybe because they’re students trying to stand up for the rights of a down-trodden people.
Or maybe some were prosecuted, and you just fail to mention it?
@shavixmir saidLook at you...You are actually saying that the criminal activity(ies)of the rioters was JUSTIFIED in your eyes. You are actually saying that there is nothing wrong when someone tramples over private property or is a nuisance when they have purpose in mind that SHAV thinks is acceptable!!!!
I don’t know why.

This is why we have the Forum>. I am here to be sure everyone sees what someone is really saying. Shav justifies these lawbreakers. Me, I think it is OK for a migrant to grab an old lady's purse because he is tired of eating tacos and wants a steak dinner. That is what AvJoe thinks. He should not be prosecuted.
Geez. Shav thinks palestinians, (or is it the Israelis) who are downtrodden. Maybe I think one side, Shav thinks another. Geex
@AverageJoe1 saidYou know fvcking well that’s not what I said.

On the other hand, property is theft. Shoot all who prefer property over civil and human rights.
The less capitalist pigs grunting about, the happier the world will be.
What the hell am I yapping to you about?
You’re as dumb as a sack full of arseholes. It’s like communicating with a fvcking donkey.
Enjoy yourself, weirdo. Byeeeee!
@shavixmir saidoouch. Did not mean to upset you with my point, that you justify the REASON someone breaks a law. An insteresting subject I would think

Here's the thing, everyone...
The issue, why do people who riot at Columbia, not get prosecuted, they broke the law? That is the issue. Several here come back with comments about some far-away country, Israel, and smatterings of stuff they are involved in, in various places. This is liberal-eze at its best. The question is about law breakers who get away with law=breaking.
Why do these people avoid that simple issue and instead write about something else, some disagreement that is going on somewhere, trying to make it part of the question?
Israel has Nothing to do with the breaking of law at Columbia. But, it sure does in the eyes of a person who thinks liberally.
