Accross Europe Centre-right parties have triumphed over their left-wing opponents in the 2009 European Parliament elections.
There were victories too for far-right and anti-immigrant parties, but the turnout was a record low of 43%.
The results allow the centre-right European People's Party (EPP) to cement its position as the largest bloc in the European Parliament.
