"Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the coronavirus task force, had previously backed funding for a controversial lab in Wuhan, China, that has been studying the coronavirus in bats, reports said.
Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases had shelled out a total of $7.4 million to the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab — which has become the focus of theories about the origin of COVID-19, according to Newsweek."

Let's say your implication that the virus was made in a lab is true: is Trump wrong for blaming China?

China is in on it too. So no, Trump is right.

When people use the term "let's say" to begin a statement, most people are aware this indicates a hypothetical.

As in "let's say kittens can understand English..."

They aren't in the clear vivy. Just because Fauci was involved, doesn't mean that China wasn't in control. They control everything - There is no way the Chinese weren't overseeing a virology lab in mainland China.

Okay. Then it's correct to say Trump is at fault for not protecting America sooner, since Fauci warned Trump in 2017. Right?

Lol

The only ones at fault are the ones who deliberately released the virus. That was not Trump. It was the same group that GW Bush and Obama belongs to.

Fauci 2017:
We need to worry about Pandemic.

Fauci January 2020:
"The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It's a very, very low risk to the United States," Dr. Fauci said on The CATS Roundtable. "It isn't something that the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about."

The Director of the CDC ( Redfield ) agreeing with Fauci's assessment:
"Obviously that became corrected as they saw in the first three, four weeks in January that human to human spread was not only occurring it's actually, as I said, more infectious and I think that led to the situation that we're in today. I think no one could have predicted how transmissible, how infectious this virus really is," he added."

I added the emphasis. Do you think Trump should have predicted it?

Actually, I'll note that Fauci was actually correct. Its very low risk for the USA. Its a complete overreaction. So why did he change his tune?

You're forgetting:

https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-anthony-fauci-trump-admin-stops-discussion-2020-2
The Trump administration has barred Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, from speaking publicly about the novel coronavirus without approval, according to The New York Times. Fauci is one of the top experts in the US on infectious diseases, and his sober public messages have contrasted with President Donald Trump's optimistic claims about the impact of the illness."

So we can conclude Trump hasn't been listening to Fauci in 2017 or 2020. Right? Doesn't that make Trump at fault?

Actually, I'll note that Fauci was actually correct. Its very low risk for the USA. Its a complete overreaction.
You still think it's an overreaction after72,000 deaths in 5 months?
