The range of feelings the world has towards America's actions ranges from absolute disdain to the ecstasy of the more patriotic Americans.
I'd say that the feelings of terrorists aren't necessarily at the first extreme, though you might think they are by their inhumane responses to their feelings.
I'd say that a significant percentage of the world has feelings towards the first extreme, whether they are terrorists or not, and this should be a concern for all people who hope for a brighter future, including Americans as the next 50 years unfold.
I'd say that a significant percentage of the world believes that America's actions are mostly driven by fear and greed, including the election of George Bush.
America is being targetted because it is the current super power and it's actions have profound results that the average voting and non-voting American may not consider.

The bottom line is this - I believe that America is going to have serious problems over the next 50 years for reasons I have explained in a number of threads and that America's response is going to be such that a third-world war will be triggered.
Pretending such outcomes won't happen will not prevent them from happening.

The first step towards ending this inevitable doom? spamming the RHP forums, obviously.

Right on! Let's all take responsibility.

Another day, another batch of beer.
Truce?
On any given day, I can hate my country as much as you can. Rummy's answer to the troops yesterday ... for example.
Ok. So we all can hate.
What do you like? What do you enjoy? Who are you and why do you exist?
That is what is interesting to us. Really. Tell us who you are and why you believe what you do. That is cool.
I tell too much about me. Nobody really cares any more. But I want to get to know you. Really.

I also liked seeing the movie "The Motorcycle Diaries" about Che Guevara this week. Apparently, it's the biggest selling foreign film in America.
I've driven around Australia and love the bush. I don't like Bush.

I will keep an eye out for the movie. That sounds pretty good.
Speaking of motorcycles... I am going to drive to Alaska on a cycle this summer... if I can arrange it. A lot has to happen first, so we'll see. It is something I have wanted to do for my entire life.
I have to borrow a bike. I can't afford one. I know three people with bikes that can make the trip. First is my brother-in-law. My sister's husband. Shall I just Email him and ask?
Second is my daughters ex-husbands parent. Should I just ask them?
Third is a buddy who is an undercover cop who shares a history with me. Should I just ask him?
I'll tell you what. If you can get here (Salt Lake City, June 1 2005)
If you can meet me here... and if you can get your own ride... we'll go to alaska together.
Any others are invited to join us. We willl leave from the SLC airport on June 1. God willing. Think about it. A real adventure. And think of the crap we can post on RHP each night! That will be wonderful.
