The thread contains a question I asked months ago.

You just happen to be not one of them :-)

The list is from the RHP flag index. Readers would come from that list.
The bottom line is this - I believe that America is going to have serious problems over the next 50 years for reasons I have explained in a number of threads and that America's response is going to be such that a third-world war will be triggered.
Pretending such outcomes won't happen will not prevent them from happening.
All empires grind to a halt. Most of them don't grind painlessly either.
What's your big problem with a third world war? Do you mean that millions of people are going to die, starve and be mistreated? Well...that's happening as we speak, a third world war isn't gonna make it any worse.
Stan,
For what it's worth. We americans are the worst people in the world. We are indeed sub humans.
We deserve nothing but hatred. But being the evil incarnate, we love killing babies and innocent's everywhere. We go out of our way to devour children. Uncooked.
Sorry we exist. We will now go and kill ourselves. But before we do, we will use our thirty thousand nukes on innocents everywhere! Nee haa haaa!
What sport. Kill!!! Maim!!! Destroy!!! Neeeee haaaa haaaaaa!!!
Then we will kill ourselves by poisoning the earth and using every last drop of energy and all that.
Sorry. I have to go kill myself now.
Later,
Mike

You give us credit for being more than we are.
We are just people. Torn between ignoring the outside world and trying to help.
When we try to help and we cause a mess, we feel bad. Really. So then we might not try to help. We pout. We feel bad for ourselves. Just like all people do.
You expect way too much of us. We are not any smarter or better or bigger than you.
So cut a little slack. We didn't mean to be "powerful". Whatever that means. We are piss poor at it. But that doesn't mean we are evil. Just not smart.

Some of the responses I've got are extremely concerning - seeming to involve very high levels of blind patriotism, greed, fear, disregard for other human beings, etc.
These are also in-line with how your government behaves.
My aim has been to demonstrate to the many existing and new American members of RHP just how strongly people feel outside of America and to discuss implications for the future.
This has largely been met with denial, ridicule and disinterest, but it's the others that can make a difference, so I'll continue.

If you feel that passionately about it, you should continue. But I will tell you that we are well aware of our faults and our shortcomings. How could we not be? We make a whole bunch of mistakes.
I don't want to argue with you. You are doing what you feel you must. I am not a "unique" spokesman for the US. Never want to be. I just think that we do get it. We know that the world hates us for our "arrogance". We just have no clue how it happened. Except that it was taught as a standard dogma by the USSR.
Blind patriotism can be two sided. It sent us against the Nazi's. And it doesn't serve well today. We know that when Rummy speaks Shit we have to come down on him hard. We will.
So we don't quite know how to reply to you rationally. We just do our best. Not too good. Huh?

You are presenting one of these (over and over). You have a
monochromatic view of the distant future.
Either you think you are a seer, or you don't have the creativity to
imagine the other possible (and/or probable) future cases.
I assure you, many of us have considered (long before you posted
and reposted) the outcome you have presented and are doing
something about it. We don't have the same sort of pessimistic
resignation about what is going to happen in 50 years that you do.
Consider this: in 1945, do you think that anyone predicted what things
would like in 1995? What about in 1955 to 2005? What about 1925 to
1975?
All predicitions -- scientific, economic, political, and social -- were way
off.
You want us to believe that your outcome is the only one possible. I
won't entertain such serious thought about one of an infinite number of
outcomes.
Sorry, STANG.

Forgive us?
Please.

Sorry. We didn't mean to have wars with all those innocent people. We are just so stupid. When will we learn to let them blow up in peace?
Sorry stan. You are the man.
I got to go to sleep now. Tired. And drunk. Bye.
