Fidel Castro, one of the truly remarkable men of the 20th Century, is set to undergo surgery for some gastrointestinial problems. I'm sure the whole RHP community joins me in wishing him a speedy recovery.😀
Fidel starting from a jungle base with only seven survivors from his landing back in Cuba after being exiled overthrew the corrupt and brutal Batista regime in less than two years. He survived a CIA prepared invasion at the Bay of Pigs and numerous assassination attempts to become the longest serving head of state in the last 100 years. He remains a burr in the saddle of the super-rich and the neocons who would like to return Cuba to its "rightful" place as another small country dominated by Western business interests. But Fidel as successfully fended off the vultures for almost a half century.
Good fer him! Sure he could play a little nicer with civil liberties and free speech, but hey nobody's perfect. Every year he gives a speech in a great public square in Havana where over 2 million Cubans, about 20% of the country's population, go to listen to his oratory. There is minimal security at these events compared to the army of Secret Service agents who must keep the people of the US has far away as possible from their "leader". But Fidel's always been a man of the people unlike the pampered rich dimwit who unfortunately is our figurehead.
So get well soon, Fidel!

I told you. I don't watch Fox News. Have you ever been to Cuba? I have. And not Guantanamo, no1, I had to address that because it would have been far too tempting for you. Havana. You should go sometime. It'll be very...eye-opening.

Do you have a point? Are you saying that AI is unaware of the circumstances in Cuba?
The motivations for not letting them in are clear. Fidel wants to prevent them from doing more accurate reports.
