It's not the head of state's job to use state power to interfere with a sporting event. A sporting event is, by definition, non-productive activity with arbitrary rules and results. The President shouldn't try to influence the outcome, no matter how stupid the rules are.

I determine the rules of mine. Do you disagree? Do you think heads of state should be lobbying sports officials? Should the President be texting the home plate umpire that the ball was outside or call the referee to throw a pass interference flag?

In hockey, if you dive, you can get a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. Maybe they should make it 2 dives and you get a yellow.

Wouldn’t Belgium prefer to beat the United States of America straight up, and not ask for any favors? If they win this thing without having that Player on their opposing team, , it will always be a blemished win.
I’m glad one of the players was not a tranee whatever they are. In this case, I guess a girl being a boy. That would sure add Fuel to the fire. The colored flags would be up all over the place. Just another liberal sect ruining America..

Nope haven't played, I just looked at my losses.
I would never play a game with any piece missing, not my style and I find those games from the 1800's to be a stain on chess history.
