I doubt they'll be a civil war. Amid all the saber rattling, neither side is that ambitious. Both sides find it far easier to sit at a computer and hiss at each other.

New England and New Spain would win like they did in the first Civil War. Naval dominance, industrial capacity, higher population and a willingness to use immigrant soldiers would overwhelm the South...again.
