Amazing what some lawyer threatening can do:
"“Newsmax has found no evidence that either Dominion or Smartmatic owns the other or has any business association with each other,” Tabacco told his viewers. “We have no evidence that Dominion uses Smartmatic software or vice-versa. No evidence has been offered that Dominion or Smartmatic used software or reprogrammed software that manipulated votes in the 2020 election.”"
"Facing threats of legal action, Fox Business and Fox News ran three stunning and nearly identical fact-checks over the weekend—on Lou Dobbs Tonight, Justice with Judge Jeanine, and Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures—appearing to debunk discredited claims about Smartmatic voting machines that aired on those shows."
Trump's more nutty lawyers also could be liable for defamation for their crazy public comments.

@no1marauder saidThat article is misleading. It is Smartmatic that was accused of ties to Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, not Dominion. Looks like a biased left wing website doing dishonest reporting.

In fact, I was the first person to point to Powell's goof on this forum. I created a whole thread about it. I point out all lies, not just one party's lies. I am not a partisan hack like you.

@metal-brain said"In an appearance on Fox News, Giuliani claimed that Dominion’s software “is done by a company called Smartmatic, a company that was founded by Chávez and by Chávez’s two allies, who still own it.” Giuliani also claimed in an interview on November 12 that “Dominion is a company that’s owned by another company called Smartmatic through an intermediary company named Indra.”

"Did you know a foreign company,DOMINION,was counting our vote in Michigan, Arizona and Georgia and other states.
But it was a front for SMARTMATIC, who was really doing the computing.
Look up SMARTMATIC and tweet me what you think?
It will all come out."

What does Rudy think?
You can't honestly claim Rudy is wrong if you don't even know who owns it yourself. Trump claimed nobody seems to know who really owns it. If he is lying who owns it? That is all I am asking.

The point is that Fox News and Newsmax have had to retract numerous false claims they made about the two companies. And those claims are the core of the Trump conspiracy theory that the election was "stolen" from him by manipulation of votes by the machines.
The Dominion demand letter to Powell is here: https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21APYmtQW5u7%2DOygg&cid=477107F019583E73&id=477107F019583E73%21814&parId=root&o=OneUp
It stated her comments were defamatory, demanded a retraction and insisted that she maintain records that would be relevant in a defamation action. Such letters are typical precursors to legal action.
