What about the Becket award this year? Do you agree with it's being awarded to Lake Washington High School? Up there near/in Seattle?
Thanks,
Bennett
EDIT: Actually, never mind. I found what you were referring to. Here is the response of the Principle of Lake Washington High School:

I have not googled the org or the name. Might be interesting to see what the runner's up were.
Anyway, the high school in question banned Dickens "Cristmas Carol" to be politically correct.

OH Brother!
That is about the weakest CYA I have ever heard. Poor guy. Must be short on originality. I could have done better. Everything he says was refuted in the interview. There were even three dates available to reschedule. He denied them all. Notice his CYA doesn't mention that?
Principal Mark Robertson cancelled a performance of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol by a private theater group on the high school's campus, claiming that the show would raise serious questions about the role of religion in public schools. Although the principal also cited a school policy against the sale of tickets for the show, the performance had been scheduled for months in advance, and the same theater group had previously performed two secular plays at the school without incident.
