Fox regularly runs commentary by Colmes, who is well to the left of center. Can you name somebody on CNN, for instance, who is on air as much as Colmes is, and is as far to the right as Colmes is to the left?

This whole thead denotes the problem that the left has. And will continue to have. The natural assumption that they are somehow "smarter" than conservatives. I have to smile at that. Ever hear the term "Elite" and wonder what it means? It means a whole bunch of silly people who fear change. Democrats. Hell. They still think that their party fought the civil war on the side of the north. Gag. The slaveholder elites are still out there. And still call themselves the same party. Democrats.

I can only hope not to disabuse them.

I love it. Lost any good close elections lately? Just never learn. Too conditioned to even know truth when they see it.

The point is that Fox thrives off of playing into the liberal vs. conservative framework. They have made a deliberate attempt to mix news reporting with opinion. To this end they have set up a mock venue for conservative/liberal debate and reported news through this narrow lens.

It is revealing that you really only have one prominent left-leaning moderate and a bunch of right-wing zealots. Just because Fox says it's "fair and balanced" or "we report you decide" does not negate the fact that Fox is making a deliberate attempt to push conservative, Republican viewpoints.

So why do they have Colmes on there?

Ans: It allows them to make some, albeit pathetic, argument that they present "both sides" (As if there are only two sides). This allows them to air many more right-wing points of view. He's their token "liberal."

Hannity and Colmes. One loud-mouthed moron and his hand-selected meek moderate sidekick going back and forth. How about Bill O'Reilly? What co-host or countershow does Fox offer? Who "balances" Brit Hume? Who will challenge Zel Miller? In fact, would some Fox fan here mind posting all the major talk personalities on Fox so we can see how they break down?

Now I like PBS. Nearly all reactionary conservatives will clam that PBS is liberal. While I disagree that PBS news pushes a liberal agenda, I will agree when it comes to certain talk shows. I like NOW with Bill Moyers. Nevertheless, when I watch, I am quite aware that Bill is offering a very "liberal" view of the issue. I treat his show as an opinion program, not as news.

Unfortunately, the majority of Fox viewers do not make this distinction when watching their favorite talking-head.

Oh yes. That CNN thing. That is a delusion that grew up quite a long time ago and is now being fed to you by Fox as a form of self-promotion. CNN is not the "Clinton News Network" or any other such crap. The only liberal opinion program on CNN that comes to my mind is Lou Dobbs Tonight. I can't think of any right wing wackos on CNN. Then again I don't watch CNN that much. So there you go. One liberal talk show vs. no apparent extreme conservatives. Hardly on par with Fox.

Bitter? To finally -- after 50 years of having total domination of ALL news -- to FINALLY have a single conservative point of view? Poor Liberals. I really feel for you. Just can't quite reach you. It is just too fun watching you all drown in your feelings of helplessness.

It feels Good! I just want to celebrate!

I love it.

Don't you think when ever you get people reporting the news that
you will always have either a liberal or conservative framework of
sorts? Unless just pure numbers are being given the second a
description or opinion is given that is the risk being run. Personally
I'm glad they have discussions with more than one conserative on
a pannel talking about events. It seems to me that Fox has more
than one liberal on, but Colmes is without a doubt the most outright
liberal on the network.
You ever wonder why Fox seems to be hated for it's slant on the
news? If is because they lean right, then you should not wonder why
CNN and the their fellow left leaning news agencies are disliked by
those of us who are more right leaning.

One pointy headed elite said to the other. For no apparent reason. What am I saying?!

With no apparent reason. Ever. But when you are smarter than everyone... who needs reason. We should just all stand in awe of the raw intellect. The grandure. The Might of being. That is a liberal.

Gag.

Do you? Sorry. Don't mean to make fun of retards.

I never knew.

I don't feel that way at all. Sorry you do.

Who is the true "conservative"? The one who votes for the party of slavery? To preserve it?

Or the true liberal capable of finally adopting the party of Lincoln?

Being one who "conserves" is much preferable to trying to "preserve" out of fear of change.

The ones at Fox who jump to mind at the moment, along with my own figuring of where they are on the political spectrum (and I will admit ahead of time that I won't be able to support my classification--call it a gut feeling after spending quite a bit of time watching both Fox and CNN) are:

Van Sustern - slightly left
O'Reilly - far right
Hannity - far right
Reviera - slightly left
Colmes - left
Coulter - far right
Estrich - left (I almost called her Carole Channing) 😛
Paige Hopkins & Laurie Dhue - no idea where they fall, but they look like they stepped right off of centerfolds, don't they?

Among their frequent guests for interviews are Rev. Al Sharpton on the far left. They had Kwaze Infume on a couple of weeks ago. They would love to be able to interview Rev. Jesse Jackson and Michael Moore on a regular basis. In fact, as I recall, O'Reilly did get a few minutes of give and take on camera with Moore.

{I have not researched the spelling of names, so my apologies if I have messed some of them up.}

If you a claiming to have an IQ of 160, then I would first say, "I doubt it." Second, if this is a valid IQ score (not some lame brain internet test or self-administered exam then you in good company (well that depends on whether you consider me good company or not)

Finally, I would remind you that having a high IQ does not make necessarily make you "smarter." A high IQ can facilitate the acquistion of knowledge, but diligent study and unwavering inquiry are the necessary ingredients.
