The truth is that the horizon for oil is getting further out almost every year. I can remember projections that the earth's supply would be exhausted by the turn of the year 2000. Now the horizon is out past 200 years even with China and India demanding more oil for their fast growing economies.
Have no fear ! With gas prices soaring "The Anointed One" has a plan !
You've got a bunch of algae out here. If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we'll be doing alright. Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in America." ~ President Barack Obama at the University of Miami

Sign me up!! So where are the algae powered cars and houses?
You know, if the same words that Obama speaks came out of the mouth of someone like "W", we would all think the man was hopelessly retarded.

I may have come across the next energy source to replace the remaining 83%.

These optimized locations have the potential to generate an oil volume equivalent to 17% of imports for transportation fuels, equal to the Energy Independence and Security Act year 2022 “advanced biofuels” production target and utilizing some 25% of the current irrigation demand. With proper planning, adequate land and water are available to meet a significant portion of the U.S. renewable fuel goals.
