@techsouth said"Unpredictability"? You can't possibly be so ignorant as to not know the pipeline was controversial since its inception and the US part had been blocked by the Obama administration. Every single Democratic politician of note had insisted on its abandonment and even under Trump a mere 8% of the pipeline was ever finished. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_Pipeline#:~:text=The%20original%20Keystone%20Pipeline%20cost,development%20costs%20were%20%241.5%20billion.
In 2018 and 2019 $1.5 billion was spent on the Keystone XL pipeline. Then, Jan 20, 2020 due to an election outside the control of investors, all that investment went up in smoke. With that kind of unpredictability in regards to investment, it's no surprise that oil companies would want to hedge their investments to safeguard their capital positions.
Tell me why any oi ...[text shortened]... ould risk investing in new production as long as there is a chance a Democrat will become president.
I'm sure you didn't bother to read the articles I cited to, but they clearly show that Keystone wouldn't have made the slightest difference to energy prices in 2022 and it's doubtful it ever would. The oil meant to be shipped in the line has other, numerous paths to market and the total claimed to have been available to go to the pipeline even if the damn thing had ever been finished was a small portion of world oil production.
I get it; you guys are gullible and believe any propaganda that Fox, Breitbart and the rest spew out, but really try not to be so ridiculous, will ya?

What ?? What ?? Investors should control who gets into the White House ??
Besides.....any investor who actually thought Trump was going to win in 2020 ??
Well.....I wouldn't hitch my wagon to that investor. That's for sure.
@techsouth saidThis may help your conversing with liberals. You mention "Risk". They have no concept of risk. I suggest you couch your comments, as I do, without the use of words with which they are unfamiliar. And, if they go to the dictionary, they go to the 'Urban Dictionary', which of course kicks Websters ass. You must always be aware of who you are conversing with. When I speak with a latino, they always know to stay with Spanish words that I am familiar with. We have good conversations.

@no1marauder saidI get it how you fellers fault FOX, I get that. They are entertainment, another thread maybe. BUT, Breitbart?!?!? Do you think they don't watch what they preach. Let's see some lies of Breitbart. They may be there, but I am on it a good bit and see none.

@Mott-The-Hoople
And I bet you just wish you had been able to assist your Proud boys in THEIR insurrection on Jan 6. BTW, the leaders of that charge are charged as we speak with seditious conspiracy, which is just another way to say TRAITOR.
It was a REAL conspiracy, your undoubted buddy Navarro has spelled out just how it was set up and done by a BUNCH of sitting congressmen and senators, they also come under the banner of TRAITOR, aiding and abetting in time of war and if the attack on the capitol was not war I don't know the meaning of the word.
You condone it, that makes YOU part of the traitorous ways also, I assume you hate the US so much you WANT there to be a permanent Republican party running the country for the next 100 years or more, turning the US into just another banana republic with a huge military, which they WILL use to quell protest if they actually pull of the NEXT coup. The first coup on Jan 6 was just a practice run for the real thing going on under our very noses, like in Ohio, the state courts have ignored the obvious partisan gerrymandering which gives state republicans a 6 point advantage IN A STATE THEY ALREADY OWN, so that clearly is the plan for other states to use and then try that with federal elections.
All of that is just FINE with you since you are one of the fukking TRAITORS or should I say COMRADE just like Metal brain?
@earl-of-trumps saidYeah, around the ENTIRE WORLD.
Way to go, Joltin' Joe.
When Biden took the helm on January 20 2021, gas in the US was $2.40 per gallon
"The national average price for gas has reached $4.86, according to AAA. That’s 25 cents higher than last week and up 59 cents in just one month.

@mott-the-hoople saidIt's gotta be tough when half the people that voted for Trump actually believe that God delivered Trump to America.
Trump did win in 2020
And then have democracy overrule God's plans. Hmmm ?
What do the evangelicals do then ?
Believe that democracy no longer works for them ?
Or believe a big fat spoonful of a big lie ?? Someone cheated ??
@sonhouse saidI note your "Republican Party running the country for the next hundred years". You realize that if AOC became president, and then more socialists after her....folllow me, Sonhouse....that your nation would be a socialist nation. We are all sure that the Republicans do not want socialism, we want freedom and liberty and the ability to succeed with no limits (key phase there, Sonhouse, no limits).

So, having put that out on the table, which would you choose? To run the country for 100 years? The party of AOC or the party of the Republicans? Choose one. No patter, please, we have all seen your thoughts. Which?
@AverageJoe1
So you figure it is a choice between socialism and authoritarian rule.
Thing is, Cortez can squeek all she wants about socialism but you seem to think she rules the democratic party. She is one squeeky wheel in a big party so that will never happen.
On the other hand, the repubs involved in the Jan 6 COUP attempt were in the HUNDREDS and continue planning as we speak.
Of COURSE I expect you to go ALL THAT IS IN THE PAST, TRUMP ISN'T POTUS ANYMORE like that is supposed make us go to sleep while they plan to kill democracy in America AS WE SPEAK it is going on, here in Pa they have plans to control the electoral college tally so they win the state no matter HOW many dems vote, and that is going on is a number of states RIGHT NOW but you won't find any of THAT on Fox news or Newsmax, all you will find is just how GREAT things were under the ex corrupter in chief.
If repubs win IN A FAIR ELECTION, more power to them, they earned it. But this business of rigging the electoral college count so they win in spite of some huge dem majority, THAT we will fight tooth and nail but of course from your POV, we are just talking nonexistent conspiracy theory because you have not heard what they are doing or know what they are doing but cheering then on, go ahead, kill democracy, I don't care as long as my 401K is profitable.

good
"We are all sure that the Republicans do not want socialism, we want freedom and liberty"
except for some books, the ability to marry whomever one wants, the freedom to choose what happens with one's body, learning history, voting, the list could go on
" ability to succeed with no limits"
except the ability to have healthcare, education, a roof over one's head, ability to get a loan, availability of jobs, ability to plan one's family. If you have enough money to ignore these limits, sure. No limits. Which is another problem.
"The party of AOC or the party of the Republicans? "
Most Americans choose "not republicans" already. Republicans haven't won the popular vote overall in 20 years.
And it's not even close to being AOC's party yet.
@zahlanzi saidNo, they should enforce antitrust laws.
so governments should intervene in the free market and regulate prices
gotcha
The oil refiners in the USA are price fixing.

For what it is worth, I myself nor my friends care about this jan 6 thing. A girl was killed, but, hey I hate it, she should not have been there,,,,her fault. So, what is there to care about. Happened yesterday. So Trump In the future is what libs have to worry about. They are a short sighted bunch.
