As I have stated to a couple people in private messages, I think there was a time when I wanted to see him impeached. Specifically, it was during the immigration debate last year when he, and John McCain and Ted Kennedy, and their followers got defeated on their Amnesty Bill for illegals. President Bush made a off the cuff statement that he wasn't going to enforce the laws about illegal immigrants that already existed.
Well, thats refusing to do one's duty as President. After all, he did put his hand on a Bible and swear to God to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and to enforce its laws.
He later recanted and went on about his job.

Speaks volumes about the stae of America today ...
Edit: Does that mean his approval rating of 30% (?) is wrong?
The site also says a whopping 34% regard him as the "worst president" of all time.

However, just to clarify, 30% is hardly a 'tiny minority' , its nearly a third .. extrapolate that out, thats means 80 or ninety million Americans.
But all surveys are flawed, it depends on the questions that are asked, the way the question is worded , etc Its similiar to the old adage about statistics .... Figures lie and liars figure.
And you can love him or hate him, President Bush has never been a person who has never let polls influence how he carries out his responsibilities.
Different then other Presidents who have townhalls every week and hold their finger in the air to see which way the political winds are blowing

Obama will be near the top of the list when his eight years are up. And then Bill Richardson takes over. I've got it all figured out.
I invite you to read the thread I started on Obama and Immigration, we need your expertise there.
Originally posted by SMSBear716Bush's approval rating is 30%; nowhere near that number rated him as the "Best President" in the poll (it doesn't have numbers, but Lincoln was #1 with 20% and Bush was #10, so he must have gotten less than 10% - a tiny minority).

The poll only had 10 presidents before FDR and the 12 since, so it's hardly an accurate survey anyway.
Originally posted by treetalkThe survey was fixed. They porbably gave a list of only 10 Pres. of which Bush was one. Of course he had to be in the top 10.

It wasn't until we got involved with the European countries and European wars that the Pres. gained more power. I guess i like George Wash the best. He didn't do much and stayed out of our lives. And he never lied.

Originally posted by treetalkThey didn't even have to fix it. These surveys are a complete waste of time because the most recent presidents always win. Notice that Bill Clinton was #6 and Ronald Reagan was #2. In time, Clinton will sink back down to the middle somwhere, and Reagan and FDR will barely round out the top ten.

I bet most people would have a pretty hard time naming more than 10 presidents. And nobody has a strong opinion about Chester A. Arthur, and nobody wants to believe that the president that they are so angry at or so in love with today will soon be just as forgetable as Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge...
"We are the mediochre presidents,
You won't find our faces on dollars or on cents.
There's Taylor and Tyler,
There's Filmore and there's Hayes.
And William Henry Harrison,
'I died in thirty-days!'"
