@earl-of-trumps saidNo, it's not. Discrimination is *unjust* treatment of a group; adding protection for women, a group who need that protection, is not discrimination.
@vivify -The equal protection clause protects against discrimination.
---------------
EoT: Right, and this is discrimination by gender.
EoT: And how wrong is this, Viv?? Firstly, you are flat out wrong about rape. More victims of rape in America are men than women. Fact.
Are you counting prison? Fine. Women, outside of prison, are the overwhelming majority of rape victims.
But your logic is faulty, too, when you specify "domestic violence".
This is not *my* logic, I didn't pass the bill. Domestic violence is a specific problem, hence why this is being specifically addressed.
So all the people that are shot/mugged in the streets of Chicago and elsewhere are not really victims of violence because these were not "domestic" crimes??
No. Get on Google and learn what domestic violence is.
I also have my doubts as to women being the overwhelming victims of domestic violence, too.
Are women beating their husbands as much as men beating their wives? Don't be stupid.
In the meantime, your prejudice and bias are quite odious.
It's "prejudice" that women should be protected from domestic violence? GFY.
@Duchess64
Now it's a different story. Now ALL republicans almost to the person HATE anything proposed by democrats, it wouldn't matter if it was a bill allowing overtime for a federal dog catcher, it was started by a democrat so NO.
Republicans are the party of NO.
Democrats are the party of LET'S GET STUFF DONE.
