I love how so many non-scientists here think they are smarter than 99% of the scientists in the world because they've read something on some website somewhere.
laughable😞
I know squat about science, but a lot about human behavior.
I love how you recruit 99% of scientists to your side of the debate .. source please.
You wouldn't lie would ya? 99%??? in the whole world??
Polled 'em all eh?

it's also interesting that non-scientists will make the unsubstantiated claims against the validity of global warming, but then disparage other non-scientists as unqualified to argue against them.

Originally posted by Darth SpongeScience, politics and money are also inseperable. Politicians often need scientists to validate some notion that suits their purpose at the time (the anthropogenic global warming theory was one such purpose of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher believe it or not) so they are always willing to throw inducement funds in that direction. And of course many scientists are only too happy to accept this largess while it lasts, which unfortunately encourages this symbiotic relationship. They feed off each other, with the media in the middle.
politics and oil are inseperable.
and
unusual things _are_ happening.
check out www.realclimate.org
As for unusal things happening, the more things change the more they stay the same. Earth's climate is ALWAYS changing! It changes in cycles and patterns dictated by the forces of Nature, chiefly the sun. and there's not a damned thing anyone can do about it, despite what idiots like Al Gore think. So no, there's nothing unusal happening. Unless of course you think naturally occuring climate variations are "unusual"??

Point one: Gore says that he cares about the enviroment. And Bush tried to pass all kinds of bills to help with the enviroment, like the Cleaner Air Initiative, and turning northern Hawaii (still sketchy on where, but Hawaii) into a marine haven. Gore 'wasn't able to enforce' e. The ice won't melt, stop worrying. Gore's one standpoint, is a sham.
Who agrees?
(Just to humor you)
Global Warming (Controversy*)
*(Entailing bias, etc.)
Faults Against Bush:
Invading Iraq Failure (mainly for oil)
Education Failure (No Child Left Behind)
Economic Failure
Disrupting the entire Middle East region
etc., etc., etc.

True, Gore is always talking about global warming and environmental catastrophes. My favorite is the Sea of Asov -- what the hell happened there?
Anyway, it's clearly getting hotter -- glaciers, permafrost, icepacks melting. What we don't know (for 100% sure) is the 'why' and 'so what?' Let alone how to stop it -- or even if we could at this point.
All of these are very good reasons to keep studying the matter. On the other hand, "green" technology -- solar, wind -- makes sense for other reasons -- cleaner, sustainable, etc. A solar panel generates elecricity for decades with little maintenance and no carting oil and coal around -- so it should be a cheaper form of energy in the long run. We need to make sure there is no anticompetitive activity going on in that field.

Gore is Democratic, and Bush is republican.
If Bush passes these bills, he'll get recongized for these, increasing republican popularity.
If people like Republicans more than Democrats, then Gore is out of the game.
