What type of gowns are we talking about here?
There's the formal gown, the religious 'frock', the judicial robe, the hippy kaftan.
Do these all count?
Should we ban them all?
Should we require gown wearers to get a licence, or pass a gown wearing test?

A well dressed populace being necessary to the social millieu of a fashionable State, the right of the People to keep and bear gowns shall not be infringed.

It's an interesting statistic that in the UK every single college professor, all of whom wear a gown at some point, eventually die.

But 'assault' gowns -- you know the ones -- low-cut, backless -- those are completely unecessary and dangerous in the wrong hands. They should definitely be banned.

It's the people who wear them who are to blame.
Leaving their assault gowns in easy reach of their kids ...
