Is Gun Crime more important than other kinds of Violent Crime? How about than other kinds of Deadly Weapon Crime? Are Gun Crimes more important than Knife Crimes?
I ask this of course because I find many Eurasians like to quote statistics about Gun Crime but aren't interested in other kinds of violent crime.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungI haven't come across any fatal nun chukka blows to the head or death by ninja star statistics, but if we can ever dig them up, I'm sure they'll make for an interesting comparison with fatal gunshot statistics.

Obviously not a gun owner. Recreational shooting is a great pastime. So is reloading one's own ammo.

Tell that to the athletes entered in the shooting events at the summer Olympics.

Gun crimes are not more important than Knife crimes per se.
But there are also differences, if someone is waving a knife at me from 30m away I don't feel as threatened as if someone was waving a gun.
Anyway what are these guncrime statistics that you talk about, I don't recall any discussion where gun crime stats were quoted specifically at the expence of homocide stats. Can you give an example or is it just something you remember.
Originally posted by Sam The ShamI do not need to own any guns to know that they were originally invented for killing.
So how many guns do you own?
I have no issue with people using guns for recreational use. I am not defending gun-haters nor promoting gun-users. I am simply stating that guns were invented to kill, just like its predecessor, the hand-cannon.
