Gas prices are likely to go down soon, but only because of the collapse of global trade. People are shopping for Christmas now because there will be empty shelves. Tourism is also collapsing, alongside the stock market.
Obviously, low gas prices are bad for the oil industry. So there's no expectation of drill baby drill, or investment in American industry more broadly.
