So not real pain in the true sense of the word, but exertion, enough to know I will be rewarded with unexplainable satisfaction. Uhhh, were we talking about the meaning of no pain, no gain? You jump to tariffs. OK, whatever. But how about acknowledging to our audience , and to the debate judges that, yes, we probably cannot improve our economy (and related problems) without some pain. Don't ask me what the pain is, we all know that we are having to do uncomfortable but necessary things ( reduce unnecessary labor forces, etc,, stopping wasted money...), but rather, can you admit we have to do painful things to turn the corner and be successful.
