If a bear gets into your yard and mauls your kid, sure you might shoot the bear, but then you have to go back and build a better fence. Going out and killing all the bears is not possible. Similarly, Israel can't neutralize all of its enemies. It's impossible. There are too many of them.

Iraq finally seems to be on the right path after their bloody civil war, which we helped cause by removing Saddam, but without which I'm not sure there would ever have been progress towards a healthy democratic society.
