Trouble flared when Utah pensioner Betty Perry, 70, refused to give her name after being upbraided because her garden breached local regulations.

She says the officer hit her with handcuffs, cutting her nose, although police insist she slipped and fell.

Ms Perry said she was "distraught" after the incident.

Man, with that crazy law suit culture in the States, that woman is
going to get tons of cash... or the cop will get the cash for being
placed under severe stress due to his challenging job 😕

I read this and could not believe my eyes, she was going to get a formal warning for not doing her gardening........sounds a bit "big brother" like to me.

or maybe she slipped and fell, and is trying to take the cops to the cleaners and ruin the officer's career?

is it possible?

mmmmhhh... yes, it is.

I feel more sympathy for the lady than for the cop. But you are right, it can always be the other way.

Too weird, something's fishy here. Unless the cop was having a psychotic breakdown and went nuts, the story is unbelievable, there's more going on here than the lady's version of things.
I'd hold off on making any judgements just yet, it sounds like a lot of facts are missing.

In this crazy world, it will end up that the lady was growing tons of marihuana in their home or something like that. You'll see

We get love letters from the boro office on a regular basis. It seems we are not wanted in Slatington. If the lawn gets over 4 inches high the grass length commissioner bolts a nasty letter on our door. I got a love letter from the boro a few months ago for daring to have a piano on our porch. It seems only OUTDOOR furniture is allowed on your own porch. How about that for big brother and can you wonder why we want out of this black hole of culture?

Sounds a bit harsh to be honest, I would have thought that as long as your yard is not a mess, a piano on the porch should be fine, but then again I don't live their.

Next they will be telling you which colour to paint your house, or what stones to use in your driveway.......

Wait, Utah, if I'm not mistaken, is desert, she, inadvertently even, conserves water and is approached and arrested by police? Fair enough, you shouldn't be able to leave a pile of horsecrap fermenting on your dead cat collection in your front lawn if it's council housing or something, but just cause she didn't water it?!

Apartment blocks in the Netherlands have to have the same colour sun screens....
Otherwise it makes the surroundings look disorganised.

However, I believe that litering in Singapore carries the death penalty.

What if all the neighbours in the block get together and agree to coordinate their blinds to make a big picture on the side of the building?

I'm not sure.
But some bureaucrat will make a profit out of it somehow.
