Hello (again) my name is Kilroy, and I'm a youtube-aholic.

I don't mean to alarm anyone, but this is what our world could look like within the next few generations.

We already completed the step of electing a reality TV personality for president.

Just when I thought I've seen everything...

I finally got around to looking at that milkshake video. Who knew that, as a group, immature men could be a voting block?
But apparently they are! This close to an election it must be a daunting task to rebrand someone we've been watching for nearly 4 years.
So I was right, you are 100 years old.

@Suzianne
Hmm, so that must be his IQ then......

You people, always with the fear.

It's all you know, I guess.

Uhh, yeah. I can see how that video might inspire fear... (?)

Actually, no. I can't.

Seriously, are clichés and one liners the best you can do?

I've been around long enough to see how language can be used to manipulate thought. A good example is "gender assigned at birth". If you can get someone to accept that premise you are then poised to talk about "gender reassignment".
It's a two-tiered trap. If you can draw them in and familiarize them with the term assigned, they will then be ready to hear about reassignment.

If anything inspires fear it should be dopes who allow themselves to be so easily manipulated.

So now people are "manipulated" by truth?

Beats being manipulated by fear.

No, I said language can be used to manipulate thought.

Fear of what? I posted a YouTube link to the trailer of Idiocracy. It's a comedy, not a horror flick. What is there to be afraid of?

And you are what... six, maybe seven?
Sitting around a campfire with your buddies, and scaring yourselves with ghost stories?

You don't need to be afraid of Trump. Just walk up to him and stare him in the eye. Put your thumbs in your ears and wiggle your fingers, and poke out your tounge and say "Na na na na na. Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me!"

That'll show him who's boss.

I think you missed the point of Idiocracy IF you think it was right wing, MAGA friendly (granted it was before MAGA).

Here's a HINT; what is the only source of news in the dumbed down future depicted?

The president in that movie, Dwayne Camacho, is trump.

A former reality TV star thinking he alone can solve all the problems and drapes himself in the American flag. It's almost like trump modeled his political style based on Camacho.

If Dwayne Camacho thinks he alone can solve all the problems, why is he seeking help from the smartest man in the world?

The only point worth noting (imo) is what can happen when a society allows itself to be dumbed down. It's happened before and, in case you haven't noticed, it's happening now.
