@averagejoe1 saidActually the rich person came to me
A yawner post, thousand. No one will answer me if they are working for a rich person or for a million dollar corp. They wont admit it, that is why. They have gone to a rich person to get a job. I sense hypocrisy in all lib posts. Really, where WOULD you go to get a job? Where would you start your 17 year old by introducing him to entrepreneurship, etc? McDonalds, ...[text shortened]... that scenario like you do. You know,'those dam rich people"......But hey, may my son work for you?
@athousandyoung saidYou may be saying that you are an enterprising and hard worker. Mr. Rich invested his money with you. Both of you made money, I love it. He had the Freedom to Choose to Take A Risk with you. You both made money! I love this country. Were you able to avoid Obama regulations, make a lot, to reinvest?!? Cool. We are going to upset some posters here, but I’m glad you showed how it works. I have invested in guys like you, but got tired of Suzianne saying I made money on the backs of others. Did your investor?
Actually the rich person came to me
@averagejoe1 saidNo I’m fairly lazy but good at studying and taking tests which is how you get qualifications to do things

So should I expect his gratitude for being available to do the work he wanted done?
@sonhouse saidCan you ever get an issue? Note the Thousand post,... he says rich people keep hoovering-up money and sitting on it, screwing people. So, I retort, to, once again, explain how the economy works. You know, money is only a vehicle. It is a measuring device of who works or thinks or takes risks more than others. That is it. So I told Thousand, who, having mentioned money, that I was glad to see that he is apparently an entrepreneur. You see, that is the issue. Money is not the issue. I wonder if the Dems will punish Thousand, and his investor, for their success. Sonhouse, I have a feeling that you would. I just hate it.
@AverageJoe1
Do you think of ANYTHING else besides money?
You should ferret out issues prior to responding to posts. But, having said all that,,,,,yes, I do think about money a good bit. I have to.
@AverageJoe1
Well, if you are a banker or some such it is your JOB to think about money 9 to 5. Also if you have active stocks and want to track them, it would be a good idea to watch that stuff.
I lost a quarter million in MY 401K in 98, I had to be 59 1/2 years old to make your own decisions about what stocks are in a person's portfolio but I was 57 ATT. It started tanking and I though oh well, it will come back up but there were some 9 stocks they had in there and they ALL tanked, I ended up with something like 3,000 bucks. Great deal, eh.
If I had the choice I would have gone with the majors, IBM, MS, Apple and the like but that crap they had was not in that league. Obviously if I knew then what I knew now, I would have taken the 30% tax hit and checked out but stupid me, I thought it was only a glitch and would come back but all that fund did was go downhill to near nothing really quickly.
I had a friend who bought Agere at 85/share. It tanked the same way but the CEO made out fine, he KNEW it was going to tank and he checked out with a 15 million dollar check. I happen to have made the mistake of working for Agere ATT.
Glad I didn't buy THAT stock. Charlette was not so lucky, it went down to something like one dollar.
@sonhouse saidIt has become a gambling house, except for what you say....buy only good companies...apple, Microsoft Amazon. Got Lucky with ROKU a few years ago, got out at the top, reinvested into RIOT (crypto) and I think it dropped 80%. Broke even after all those days and nights fretting. Sorry yours was that bad. I mean, is Tesla the next Amazon. I think it is up $80 in a week. That is one, if it dips, that I will get. Find us a company that makes the electric fill-up stations. We may be short on those.

As to the CEO who slipped away, if he traded on inside info, such as that, he should be punished. There are criminals in all sectors of our society, I don't know how we control all that. Life aint perfect.
@AverageJoe1
I think the statute of limitations has passed on that particular assswipe so he gets a really nice house on the beach, gets away clean. I think his name was McDonald or something like that. Former CEO of Agere. I used to work at Agere, they were having catered lobster lunches till the train hit the side of the mountain and it all came crashing down.
@liljo saidAnd two seconds later, they all exploded in laughter, they had a real good laugh at that, one guy clutching his chest like he was having a heart attack and then they brought out the bourbon and they all had a grand time until the sumptuous dinner was served (by the slave help, no doubt).
Goes way back, too. Imagine if, in the early 1800's, rich landowners sat down and had a meeting. In the meeting, one said, "Why don't we pick our own cotton?"
@suzianne saidDang, Suzianne! I had no idea you were that old!
And two seconds later, they all exploded in laughter, they had a real good laugh at that, one guy clutching his chest like he was having a heart attack and then they brought out the bourbon and they all had a grand time until the sumptuous dinner was served (by the slave help, no doubt).
Yep. It could have been completely different for the USA. Alas, I guess we should just shelve the whole idea. With social media, unresolvable division (and I do mean completely unresolvable), I guess we should just give it up.
Again and again I ponder the fact that even the name of our country is a lie.
The United States of America...United? About what?
@suzianne saidWhile you are on it, do you realize that we took over the land occupied the Indians ? So, what if there had been no slaves, and what if we had let the Indians have all the land west of the Mississippi? I mean, while you are rolling on pontification!.... Then, since we are digressing, what about Trump a few years ago, what do you think about him?

@AverageJoe1
Rich, super rich people don't go into it intending to screw people, they go into it for number 1. Most of them are sociopaths, most CEO's are sociopaths, it helps them do the job of herding people.
Trump a few years ago? Like on Apprentice? He was an assshole then and continues in that tradition now, he is responsible for the coup attempt Jan 6 and is responsible for the continual work for the NEXT coup which might even be successful and I can tell you Trump RELISHES the idea of being another dictator, he is in LOVE with Kim Jon Un, he said as much on public TV.
I just hope tonight's testimony covered by several stations notably NOT Fox traitor news, is seen by enough people to cause at least SOME of the Trump zombies to realize they have been duped by the master manipulator Trump.
THIS is what Fox traitor news actually SAID:
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/09/us/tucker-carlson-sean-hannity-fox-news-jan-6.html
Not an insurrection, just a bunch of peaceful demonstrators on a legitimate political discourse....
Sure and Kim Jon Un is a GREAT leader.
