What the hell is this then?
Am I supposed to believe there’s some group targetting US diplomats in Cuba, China and Austria, using secret technology nobody really knows about, but basically aiming microwave energy bursts at consolates?

Far be it for me to be judgemental, but shouldn’t they first check the equipment and appliences they use in-building? That would seem a far more likely scenario.

The US government is investigating a series of health incidents in the Austrian capital Vienna involving its diplomats and other administration staff.
More than 20 officials have reported symptoms similar to Havana Syndrome - a mystery brain illness - since President Joe Biden took office in January.
The syndrome is unexplained, but US scientists say it is most probably caused by directed microwave radiation.
It was first found in Cuba in 2016-17.
US and Canadian diplomats in Havana complained of symptoms ranging from dizziness, loss of balance, hearing loss and anxiety to something they described as "cognitive fog".
The US accused Cuba of carrying out "sonic attacks", which it strongly denied, and the incident led to increased tension between the two nations.

Unless they're being used as Guinea pigs to test out this technology, I don't see why such attacks would be wasted on on random U.S. diplomats. If this technology exists, it doesn't seem very sophisticated and it's stupid to risk revealing such attacks are being developed, by going after mere "diplomats".

If a government was going to use such weapons, wouldn't they go after bigger fish? Maybe save it for a foreign dignitary?

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't put such acts past any government. Most governments commit shady, immoral acts, both to their own citizens and foreigners.

Who knows. Maybe this is true. If real, it would be scarier than nukes, because this can be done in secret. In fact, I'm surprised radiation poisoning hasn't been used more. Many people who survived the blasts in Hiroshima and Nagasaki died from the ensuing radiation.

This world is f....ked.

Basically my point.

It would seem to me that most US consulates (and 1 Canadian) buy the same equipment and appliences (central distribution to keep costs down).
And that one of these appliances is problematic. Airco system or something (although airco is usually building based, so different in each building), coffee machines, fridges, etc.

Sounds far more likely than some sort of international terrorist group with sound-ray guns.

I remember when you leftist thought china releasing the c19 virus from a lab was nonsense.

Diplomats that got sick have irregular brain scans afterwards so the commies are obviously up to something. Embassy people being affected in Russia/China/Cuba, they've all had episodes of head problems when stationed in these craphole countries.

I should think by now the americans should have detection equipment to figure it out.
Either way, I am sure these people are being made sick. Too many coincidences.

It's probably Russian or Chinese harassment technology

I would imagine they will have some sort of rudimentary data processing unit with filters to block anything that doesn’t make them angry and upset.

How would anyone know it was a CIA operative returning?
