Yeah, we all have a bad night, occasionally. But Biden's 'I had a bad night' excuse is inexcusable. A sitting president cannot afford the luxury of having bad nights. The world cannot risk its security on a president who might be having a bad night when ICBMs are in flight towards Paris, London, Tokyo, New York, and Honolulu. It is time for the old man to stand down, pass the torch, and retire into quiet obscurity, as Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Carter have all done. Thoughts ?
@moonbus saidI appreciate Joe Biden for what he's done for this country, including getting Trump out of the White House. Standing beside Barack Obama, our nation's first black president, as an associate and as a friend. Giving us all hope that we, as a nation, might endure the specter of Trump and his particular brand of hate and division.

But I agree. It is time to retire from the national stage and rest on his laurels a bit. He's worked hard his entire life and he's earned the chance to enjoy his remaining years at home with his wife and children. This isn't your fight, Joe. You've already fought the good fight, and you have the thanks of a grateful nation.
I look forward to Kamala Harris becoming the first woman president. Under Joe Biden's tutelage, she has become much more knowledgeable of world leadership. She has the passion and the energy the job requires. She's considerably younger than either major candidate. She's fully aware of the danger of Project 2025 and will take steps necessary to protect us from the worst of it, not just during her administration, but after. She will bring back standing up for the rights of ALL Americans, not just the wealthy and white, but also those who happen to be women and people of color. She will bring back respect for what it means to be a democrat: to actually uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND domestic, for the PEOPLE instead of for the corporations.

THIS is what being "racist scum" is. You separate minorities from whites by claiming they were hired for their race, and not because they were the best for the job... because that is simply unthinkable for you that anyone can do the job as well or better than a white person. You do not know they were hired by merit, but you ASSUME they weren't. Assumption is the basis of racism.
"DEI hire" is a gigantic dog-whistle for whites to kick the people of color to the curb.
Why do you hate humanity like you obviously do?

@moonbus saidWell, it's certainly true that anyone can have a bad night. And verbal flubs are not the same thing as being unable to make critical decisions with the advice of the cabinet.

The main problem for Biden is that it wasn't just a bad night. It was probably about an average night for him. He's plainly not up to the job, and the Democratic party would be plain nuts to nominate him (and they won't).

It's only true in your mind, because that's what you've been told.
You think these are not merit-based because "how can people of color compete with white men?" This is what racism is, Spanky.

The Democratic Party runs by consensus, not by being told what we think (or else!), like that other party.
@Suzianne saidSo, let me get this straight.

The part of "consensus" and democracy is going to nominate someone who didn't get any (or got very few) primary votes. The other party nominated the candidate who won the primaries.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's very smart of the Dems to dump Biden. But they're in a lousy position to be getting on their high horse about "consensus" and democracy just now.

@sh76 saidNow do you want to school me on what the function of delegates at the convention is, or what Republicans think their function is?
