Total Control? What in the hell??? Sonhouse, what about this? Openly embracing censorship? Aren't you the Democracy Czar??? She is speaking of the speech of political opponents. NO free speech??
This is a threat to Western Civilization .

I would be interested in some observations here, this is amazing.

Then there is this. Above, see democrats want to control us. Google it if you do not believe it.....I had to myself. I thought, No Way!!
But now we have another judge stopping Biden from breaking the law, the Constitutional provision that only Congress can approve funding.. So, We have Dem control, and we have a president ignoring SCOTUS. I just cannot vote Democrat.

Why do you think you grew up watching television that didn't include porn? Because it was regulated. Why do you think public radio censors music for content? Because it's regulated.

Did regulating television and radio threaten western civilization? No.

Regulating social media is no different.

The issue is political speech. Obviously, we need to be sure our children are protected from bad media. Musk himself is protecting the children, etc.

How about requiring political ads to be truthful? Dems ads are making all kinds of claims about Trump and Republicans that are ridiculous lies.

I can play Kamala ads all day long where all they do is make false claims about what Trump will do.

I think we are past the point of internet control and moderation.

#1 Instead of control like vivify's post which made sense, the internet control idea is by people who want power. It's too political these days to let anyone or any group take control.

#2 Starlink has proven that satellites can provide internet so another country sends up satellites and for a small fee we have uncensored internet.

#3 Cable tv and radio got so boring they introduced pay for radio and tv channels that were more fun.
I can't even name one person who still pays for cable television.

I was talking about the lies Trump himself has made. (About what his political rivals would do). Are you not aware of those?

Take, for example, Infanticide being criminalized in every state, with no state having passed a law allowing the killing of a baby after birth. But this didn't prevent Trump from falsely stating:

“The problem they have is they’re radical because they will take the life of a child in the eighth month, the ninth month, and even after birth, after birth.”

You cool with that?

How about you resist the urge to demonise those on the other side of the political spectrum and engage your brain.

Nobody is advocating infanticide (abortions after birth). literary, nobody. Trump merely said that to fire up people like yourself. It has no basis in truth.

But up to almost the end of the 9th month is OK....both Gavin Newsome and kamala have been asked about it and they both refused to say they were against it. Kamala pulled that "it's a discussion we should have" and Newsome just hemmed and hawed and changed the subject.
And there HAVE been babies aborted late term that were alive and viable with medical care and were put on a table and left to die.

Since they advocate abortions up to the 9th month, no it is not a lie. Babies that are capable of surviving have been taken from wombs and left to die.
