recently i took a holiday to spain, there were many english in the resort and i was saddened and embarrassed by the sheer arrogance of so many.... here's a few quotes why...

"he can't even speak english" when the english were talking to a native... maybe that's because he's spanish!

"burger and chips love" even though these people are in spain and there was no attempt of trying out or understanding a local cuisine

and my favourite... "listen mate.. hmv... where mate? Ryan... Ryan (shouted from across the resort) these spanish geezers dont even have a hmv...!"

why do these people even go abroad when all they want is english speaking people serving english food while shopping at english shops?

It's not the moonlights fault either, or the good times...

its simple, you have encountered the english working class, brought up on football, chips, tabloid newspapers (comics for big kids), and lager. traditionally cannon fodder for the empire, and to man the factories. the establishment still reserves proper education for the higher classes, although that system is becoming less stable now, and proper health care for those who can afford it. the bad news for the world is that the english working class can now afford to travel, and i believe there are certain places such as Spain and Florida which get more than their fair share. my advice is to avoid those places, just look out for lots of english pubs, and ads for english breakfasts, and "kiss me quick, squeeze me slowly" hats.
in the old days, it was the british army that brought these guys around the world to rough up the natives, who they found revolting. now they go via package holiday deals.
The only thing i will say on their behalf is that their own country is swarming with foreigners speaking foreign tongues too. i guess there is some sort of poetic justice going on there
