After more than 30 years and tens of millions dead -- mostly children -- the World Health Organization (WHO) has ended its ban on DDT:

Im not too sure how this works but DDT based insecticides like Clordane, have always been available in Trinidad. WHO also advised that MSG is carcinogenic, yet we get that here as well. I think its up to the state to purchase /manufacturer what they see fit. WHO can advise, not dictate.

I would appreciate it very much if you'd give a link to this information.

From the article: " ..... the problem was the amount of DDT used, not the chemical itself."

Yeah, sure ...... where did I hear the same crap ... oh, in the legalise illegal drugs debate.

The amount of rat-poison is the problem, not the chemical itself ......

"DDT presents no health risk when used properly."

Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah, WHO assistant director-general for HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria.

I regularly use DDT as a pesticide against cockroaches and dust mites here in Japan. It's been freely available in many forms here for many years. I use the spray, but not if there's food open.
I ain't dead yet, and the bugs don't come back.
