Someone who bats for the pitcher.

Wouldn't that mean they are on opposite teams?

The batter and the pitcher.

I'll tell you one thing whodey my man,

If you were all I had with that attitude of yours,

I'd go into a locked darkened room alone with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a gun.

Lighten up man!!!
I have a greater hope than what this world has to offer. It is the good news of the gospel that has come to brighten a very dark and dreary world.

So I stand with those who seem to fight despite the odds whether it be Winston Churchill standing alone against Nazi Germany or Ghandi standing alone against a world superpower or Jesus himself who stood against the Roman Empire and Jewish religious leaders.

In the end, good will prevail, but first we must display a little faith and stand firm as hell itself is thrown our way despite the appearance that all is lost and that it is futile to ever have hope again.

So supposing the economy does not pick back up, would you lose hope?

When the pitcher would normally come up to bat in the American League, he has a designated hitter bat for him. In the National League the pitchers bat for themselves.

Why not come over to the NL where real men still play the game? 😵

In reply to Sasquatch and whodey,

I always have hope. You have to have hope.
Without hope all is lost. I believe in the philosophy of
there is always another way.

With that philosophy and the strength of human spirit and CAN DO,
anything is possible. Anything can be achieved. I have turned my hand
to fiction writing and have had a litt ...[text shortened]... is low

Wish me luck. Thanks.

I do wish you luck, my friend.

You mean where pitchers are such wusses they need a freebee once every 9 batters?

NL pitchers take batting practice and aren't "freebies".

With the new year coming, what things do you hope for and what things do you anticipate despairing over?
I hope the economy will continue it's slow mend. I anticipate dispairing over another Seattle Seahawks playoff meltdown.

You and your boyfriend can console each other after the Seahawks lose this weekend.

I remember the cardinals pitchers of the early to mid 2000's. They could all hit. I also remember Pedro Martinez barely standing in the batter's box and cringing like a little girl every time the opposing pitcher delivered.
