They limit the treatment you can recieve by putting you on a wait list.

They pay medical professionals less money.

They get by with a much smaller population.

They go to the emergency room when they get sick, not at deaths door.
You're a genius.
If they go to the ER when they're
at 'deaths door' the care becomes even
MORE EXPENSIVE.

They do not do that. They go to the hospital for simply being sick.

I have a fever of 101, I must go to the emergency room!

Well, obviously you are an M.D.
as you are so well versed on a doctors pay scale.

Maybe you should move to Luxembourg
As I said, you know nothing

Yes, I know about the UK issues with doctors not getting paid enough.

Try comparing pay to a country with the same population as the US.

Oh wait, that would require someone actually being as bit intellectually honest, so beyond your grasp.

You think the homeless have thermometers?!

Can't say of a singe payer country,/comparable
pop. Don't need a college degree to surmise that
a larger population, has a higher tax base and a larger
money pool to draw from. A larger pop. would make
single payer easier, not more difficult, ELDAR

I think this covid thing brings to light something very strange in the US. At least it is strange to me.

If I get sick, I go to my doctor or go to an urgent care. This is because I am not of the lowest socio economic group.

The poor go directly to emergency rooms at hospitals if they get sick. The poorest people go to the most expensive option because they will not actually pay for the services they receive.

It is actually their culture that overloads hospitals.
In the Netherlands you only go to A&E (accident and emergency - in a hospital) if it’s life threatening (say your arm is hanging off) or if it’s night time (because GP’s are sleeping).

And if you turn up, at night, at A&E because of a blister on your finger, you’ll get rightiously shouted at, told to grow a pair and go see your GP in the morning.

And there is no distinction between rich and poor in this respect.

I don’t know about wages.
Doctors earn good money in Europe, though. What that is compared to the States? God only knows.

So, a GP (family doctor) earns about 60.000 a year, for a basic 36 hour work week. They’ll top that up with all manners of extras though.
Medical specialist earn between 70.000 and 130.000 a year.

There are usually very few waiting lists (the UK is an exception though, and because of covid there are waiting lists for non-essential operations).

The bigger the population, the easier it should be to arrange treatments.
Hence that villages don’t have hospitals and specialists are centrered around large health centres in and near cities.

How do you intend to pay for all the medical care for all the people in the US?
By bringing down the obscene profits of the healthcare industry corporations?

Bring down the take of big pharma and insurance doesn't have to pay for nearly as much as they do now.

I think they can feel sick and go to the hospital.

You should know, you have likely done it yourself.

Part of those obscene profits are doctor take home pay.

As long as big pharm makes big profits in the us, drugs get developed. No profit, no new advances.

Yes, like anyone voting for Trump. Trump didn't come up with the variants in covid but he certainly dropped the ball early on going 'it will miraculously be gone by Memorial day'. I guess he has an out. He didn't say what YEAR.
