The woman said she did not want to hurt anyone and they could have installed a negotiator and just talk it over but once again they jumped the gun and blooey, one more dead black person.
If she had gun aimed at someone they could have at least shot her in the shoulder but they acted like that woman had a gun to the hostages head. I saw the vid, and she had it loosely in her hand and she SAID she was not here to hurt anyone, but that doesn't matter to overzealous cops.
Another useless death. Oh, I forgot, it was a BLACK death so that doesn't matter, filthy black savages DESERVE dying.

@booger saidWhy do police in the US kill at rates incredibly higher than any other "First World" country? https://www.prisonpolicy.org/blog/2020/06/05/policekillings/
@sonhouse
So her taking a hostage comes second on your priorities list?
We didn't see the kill shot part of the video, so she could have easily been to the point where she was going to do something.
@no1marauder saidBecause they are facing a much higher number of armed criminals on a daily basis intent on killing them.

@jj-adams saidThat's utter nonsense. Crime rates in those countries don't show anywhere near the vast difference that the rates of police killings do.

And being a police officer in the US isn't anywhere near as dangerous as many professions; in fact in the last 25 years the most number of officers killed feloniously was 73 - that's out of about 665,000 full time law enforcement officers. Even including accidental deaths, law enforcement has 1/10 the rate of on the job fatalities as hunting and fishing workers. https://usafacts.org/articles/how-many-police-officers-die-in-the-line-of-duty/

Wait...never mind, you're just changing the subject, start your own thread.

The subject was police killing someone.
And you mentioned BLM, who's main focus is reducing the number of civilians killed by police.
@no1marauder saidThe subject was ONE specific instance and how BLM is trying to fault the police over it.

If BLM wants to reduce black shootings by police they need to tell them to stop resisting arrest and pulling guns on cops.
For that matter, over 6000 blacks were murdered by other blacks last year, with many times more than that being shot that didn't die.
They have more to fear from each other than they do the police.

@jj-adams saidYour racist explanation fails to address my point regarding the huge disparity between killings by US police compared to other nations.
