One thing I noticed was that Fox's poll showed Ron Paul the overwhelming winner, but then some guy comes on, in a room with about 20 other people sitting in a classroom-type atmosphere, saying that it was telling that no one in that class/room/group thought Paul won. I don't know if he was just making an observation, or if the group was supposed to be some kind of think tank and that the speaker was just an elitist, pompous ass.
In any case, Paul was great. Yay, Ron Paul !😀

Ron Paul.......I did not see the *debate* (not really debating-are they). I did see follow-up on the internet.

It seems the consensus is: the phone votes are not from repub's or any likely repub voters. It is felt that opponents (dems) are flooding the voting because it is generally held that Ron Paul doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of getting nominated 🙂 and Ron Paul winning that vote makes the others look weaker.

The room with 20 you mention were most likely repub's. I did see an earlier dem *debate* and a similar room of likely dem voters was interviewed after *debate*

Paul has some good ideas, like the bill he is sponsoring to have the children of two illegal immigrants in this country declared not a citizen of the United States.

Eliminating the IRS is good too though he doesn't really say what kind of tax structure he'd put in place.

People call him a conservative but he's not, he is a liberatarian at heart. He laways has been since the days he ran as President for the Libertarian Party and got 3% of the vote.

I'm sure he sees himself as a Ross Perot type of candidate, a populist. Unfortunately, he won't come any where close to Perot in his political career.

I see Ron Paul as just another RINO like John McCann or Sam Brownback

Isn't the dact that he's libertarian a Good thing?

And I agree about the IRS thing--but as long as he wants to do away with the IRS, I really don't care what tax structure he has in mind to replace it-- just as long as it's gone,

Libertarians have the right idea about economic matters -- get the government's hand out of everyone's back pocket. However, their ideas about personal freedom go a little too far: machine guns, drugs and weird sex for everyone doesn't sit too well in the heartland.

Which makes me wonder.... how did Ron Paul get elected to Congress from Texas anyway? Is he representing the Austin area Or were his opponents that horrible?

He's from the Lake Jackson/Suglarland area, just outside of Houston.

Then there's something unAmerican about the heartland which needs to be fixed.
