How does the RHP family feel about what is happening in Haiti? I've heard some really ugly opinions about it and I'd like to think that those are exceptions rather than the rule.
I'd like to believe that people really do care somewhat about their fellow man...prove me right.
I come across the homeless people almost everyday right here in America. It is a hard thing to see, but just how do I help?
here is where I have directed my help, in small ways as it has become harder to do
St.Judes Childrens Hospital
The national MS Society
Pine Ridge Indian Reservation
Eugene Mission
The Disabled veterans
Sent my oldest daughter to Sao Palo Brazil over her Christmas break, to work with poverty stricken kids. She used some of her College fund, because God told her it was right.
The Salvation Army
I don't think people don't care, but are limited by how much they can do?

As HG asked, how on earth do you decide or judge people on who and where they elect to concentrate their efforts?
There are needs to be met the world over. Stepping in to assist the Haitians get through this tough time is essential. But on the other hand it's sort of like stepping outside to take a squirt in a hurricaine. You feel relieved and get a nice warm feeling right off the bat, but your long term situation stinks. The true test will be the necessary follow up assistance over the coming years to help minimize any future natural disasters and help those folks help themselves.
