Nobody is telling you they are going home to spend time with their families so I suspect they are going to the middle east. Don't you? Trump's approval numbers in the polls are about to crash bigly. He started a forever war that will put the whole world in a depression. But the elites do not care because they have short selling to profit from disaster. They can profit from ruining the world and create order from chaos later in their favor. It appears I have misread my numbers. It seems, although Canada has met the agreed on target of 2% of GDP as per NATO’s target on defence our actual amount that goes to NATO’s “common fund” is approx 450 million a far cry from 60 billion.😲🫢
I said back in the 70's we should become more independent and not depend on the U.S., if Trump accomplished anything it was to prove to us we have to learn to look after ourselves, which is a good thing in my opinion. I had a feeling back then there would come a day a President like him came along.
We also need to trade with other countries, still keep trade with the U.S. but not be so dependent on Trade with them.

Canada, as the 2nd largest, by area, country has an active military of 63,000. Compare that to China ( 2 + million), India (1.5 million), US (1.3 million) North Korea (1.3 million) and Russia (1.1 million). We would certainly need “the help” of our closest ally (US) in time of “need’.

Iran blockaded the shipping lane which is why we are paying more for gas as well as the Americans. They would have to put boots on the ground which would be very dangerous for the Americans in my opinions. Iran has been doing Gorilla war fare for many years. They most likely have mines set up on the land as well as in the waters.
