How The Game is Played

Debates

If you want to debate how the game is played on illegal immigration, it is important to mention failures of the past 30 years. Ignoring those bizarro and obviously counterproductive mistakes of the prior administration ensures they will be repeated.
What failures of the last 30 years. To we realists, and we will be proven correct, the failure began about 64 days ago.

In 1990 there were 3.5 million illegals in the US. Now there are about 12 million. That's a failure.

The farming industry admits their workforce is more than 50% illegal. And yet, in addition to their "normal" corporate welfare, this industry received $24.5 billion in direct payments from the US gubment in 2018. This money didn't go to immigrants, it went to corps and stockholders (which was the gist of your OP). Corporate welfare to the farm industry as a reward for employing illegal immigrants... That's a failure.

The only reason I brought up Republicans/conservatives is that their governing philosophy controlled all branches of federal government at the time these subsidies came down. I can't come to any other conclusion than their policies of corporate welfare create the magnet for illegal immigration.

None of that happened in the last 64 days.

So if I make a thread about a guy talking pictures in Time Square with a camera, you will respond...."Well, Joe, you have to give us some background on where and how this camera appeared, and its history which caused it to evolve as it has".

You are a piece of work.

If you titled the thread " how this picture was taken" then yes. It's kinda the point of the thread isn't it?

No, my thread would say "Starbucks coffee costs 90 cents to make, they charge $10!!" The picture is of Starbucks. A factoid that I feel like everyone should know. It is Starbuck's business what they charge, and I personally think they should get all that they can for their coffee treat. So, I put the story out so people can make a choice (a non-used word by libs) to buy there, or at Dunkin Donuts. A simple post, with a simple message.
Ahaaa, but then arises the erudite wildgrass, weighing in on his opinions of the origins of coffee and of Starbucks, and their 'overseas' development, and maybe a word or two about Trump
But you are not satisfied and by god, think that that should be delved into! What ...the philosophy of Starbucks? But it is none of our buisness. Me, I would go home and make my own coffee and not read your Duchess-like rambling
🙂

Why don't you just start a thread exactly like that and see what happens ? 😛

I did, and I saw. Remember??? Cartwright Bonanza Lettuce Corp hires illegals (if there is such a term anymore) to pick their tobacco, cotton, lettuce, whatever for low wages, and pockets more revenues than they would by hiring US citizens. My purpose? That the forum might be apprised of what is going on. The Facts. To ponder. Somebody, maybe you, did not only mention Trump, for god sakes, but also something about corps who sent jobs overseas. A lot of posters miss the point in the Forum, and cause very interesting posts to get lost in the fog.
Oh, well, this one got lost in the fog, let us all keep up trying to improve the forum. That is one reason I am limiting myself to facts....there are enough opinions already!!
Here is a fact.... Personal income was down 7.1% in February. It only went UP over the last 4 years.

My main man Joe, "price" is not always the end all but in this case it is. I like all 3, Dunkin' Donut, Starbuck's, and...
McDonalds!! Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaa

"This may not be breaking news. But McDonalds $1 coffee is an amazing value.
I believe it is currently one of the most under appreciated deals in fast food. "

Truth. 😏

Earl of Trump seems to get the nuance of thread issues. It ain't that hard. And all I was trying to do is be an informative poster.

You didn't title the thread that though. You wanted to debate "how the game is played" in this thread and then got mad and complained when people pointed out that your explanation of the how was completely wrong.

Well, OK, I get your saying that. But you see, we speak from different schools of thought. My school is the corps gaming the system, seeing a hell of an opportunity to make a lot of money, for their shareholders. My school. Maybe the 'backs of others' as Suzianne often says. The school of capitalism.
With tendencies of socialism in your ostensible school, we are not speaking from the same platform. I might note that liberals think from the concept of 'groups of people', where conservatives are, as you certainly know, independent thinkers, and thus the schism.
Yes, you are right, the unrelated posts responding to my post took us all away from the issue, didn't it. Thank god nobody got emotional, that would have been the next parlay!!!!

The failure began around 38 years ago with the incorporation of Trickle Down Economics . Then lowering the tax rate for millionaires and beginning taxing Social Security . The fault is with the Republicans , Democrats and stupid Americans ( for believing either party ) . Since that time working class Americans have gone steadily downhill and wealthy Americans began raking in the dough . If you are not a millionaire then you are an idiot for supporting this .

I might have a different take than you do, but I would like to say one thing that is about to 'jar our preserves', as my granny used to say. Under the present Democratic locomotive into the future, it will be very difficult for out citizens to become wealthy. Too many obstacles will be in their road to success. The building of wealth has made our economy, our country, great over a couple of hundred years. The party in control does NOT WANT people to become wealthy. Let's say, to appease our socialist friends here, that that is just fine. Well, for a parasite, it makes no difference what happens, plus they do not have dreams of success. But, it stops progress, stops wealth, pretty much stops everything.
Big downer. And I for one believe that that is what is going to happen. The libs have not even begun to fire up their machine, altho the open border is their first obvious move. I didn't think conservatives know how to play that game,,,,,,maybe we are just too busy.

What "open border" is this? And how is it any more "open" than under Trump and his stupid "wall"?

Are you calling less racist "more open"? You claim you only deal in facts. Then where have you been the last four years?

I'm not going to write stuff that you can google...or dont google. A laughable post, to say the least. Suffice that Donald did his damdest to curtail Daca, Mass Deportation, and oh,,,,yeah....if he was all about that wall, what do you think he built it for, Suzianne? To help them come IN!!?!?? You need to write your posts maybe over on the history Forum. they will LOVE it/
BTW, I never know what you libs mean when you throw the word racist around, and please dont be the one to explain it to me.
