Now that the Euro community has beaten the USA economy, what is next for them? Will the US be more aggressive militarily than it already is, in the manner of other world powers near the end of their hegemony, such as near the end of the Soviet Union, the military budget consumed a higher and higher percentage of the total monies available. Will the US go that route? I think the present administration will go down in history as the worse regime in American history.

Well as long as the US keeps their WMD's they will always be a force in the world just like Russia is today. Oh thats right, Obama wants to get rid of our nukes. Never mind!

You are assuming the big O will be the next president, that is yet to be decided. I don't think we have a democracy anyway, its who owns who, who is the most bought that wins so it will be business as usual no matter who gets in. I think thats one of the symptoms of a nation in decline. Its too bad, but with some of the biggest debates being about which school system will be next on the list to be forced to teach 'intelligent' design instead of evolution, it goes to the heart of the issue, the religious right in the US leading us down the road to disaster, where stupidity reigns supreme. The Euro's have seen it before and know how to deal with it and can recognize it when it raises its ugly head.

(laughs) I always enjoy someone counts the United States out so soon. You need to go back and take a hard look at American history my friend, all this country has been through and we are still here and still standing. America has more resilency then you give her credit for.

As for the current administration being the worst in American history, well, everyone has their opinion, I personally think it was the peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter, 20% interest rates, incredible inflation rate and unemployment more than twice what it is now. As for his foreign policy... well ask the Afghanis what they thought of that.

We'll collapse just as did the UK, Germany, France and all those other former dominant powers. Then the world will be dominated by a NEW power. For example today, we have the European Union, made up of UK, Germany, France...

I don't know if you saw the exit speech of president Eisenhower, he (suprisingly due to the fact he was a 5 star general in WWII) railed against the 'military-industrial complex'. Its pretty clear that the military gets what it wants now, but in a declining US economy and less bucks all around, will they convince congress to keep upping their budget and reduce social spending, Ala the Soviet Union?

It's a bit early to start going on about the demise of the US, don't you think?

Ahhh the voice of extreme bigoted stupidity raises its ugly head again. Any Idiot with half a brain (except those perhaps blinded by belief in their great nation) can see that the US economy is in pretty serious trouble, why else would they give out economic "stimulus packages", surely a stable economy wouldn't need stimulating?.

The European economy as been level/on a stable rise, for the last 10 years, thus is doing better than the US economy.

I do agree that writing off the USA is extremely premature, they've recovered from worse, but the current administration is doing an awful lot of damage, which whoever takes over is going to spend a long time patching up.

As for the winedrinking..... comment. There have been more wars and BS on the European continent in the last 100 years, than there has been in the USA in its entire history as a White nation. So is it perhaps possible that we've learned from all our mistakes, rather than us being "pussies" as you seem to put it. Actually when was the last time the USA actually had to fight an open war on its own turf?. Several members of my family fought in the army, or were civilians in London, and a few in Poland during WW2, calling those people pussies is very brave coming from someone who has never had their home carpet bombed or had to live in an occupied country.

This is not about some subteranean collapse swallowing the u.s. into a great underground cavern ... it is more about the u.s. losing it's status as world leader ... i think it has already happenned.
If you look for leadership in manufacturing you look to china, if you look for oil it is the middle east, for moral issues the EU or UN ... why will the rest of us look to the u.s. for leadership anymore? the u.s. has been glutinously standing simply as a consumer market for foreign goods ... and seems to be losing its ability to consume.
Sonhouse makes a good point: there is still considerable military might in the u.s. (though as iraq shows that power has few fruit), how will the country deal with having military might and no other real power - it could be misused.
Hopefully all will go smoothly; afterall I think the people of u.s. do not really care about being world leaders, though the politicians do - i think most people everywhere just want a good life. And having a good life is not in question here.

Well said....... China's economy is getting ridiculously strong with although their human rights record is a little shaky. Personally I'm a little concerned with the Lunatic running Russia at the moment trying to do something stupid.......

Last time I checked, 25% of THE WORLD'S manufactured products were made in the USA. Reports of America's demise are just a bit premature.

Yes but the Economy IS failing.... Which isn't exactly a good sign. As I've said before, its definitely not the end of the USA but it could certainly do with stopping playing the "we know better" role within the rest of the world and actually focus on trying to solve its domestic issues, which are many. Hopefully a less retarded administration will get in and do this.

Actually isn't the Canadian Dollar worth more than the US dollar now? thats gotta sting.
