How will the US retaliate against Putin?

Now that Obama says that the US will embrace the law of an eye for an eye by swearing to retaliate against Putin for his hacking, what will Obama do to retaliate against Putin for making Hillary's e-mails public?

Will he hack Putin's private server that he conducts all of his top secret business on, or will he just give him a good spanking?

Maybe he will draw more red lines in the sand.
