My state has a law requiring me to remove snow and ice from my sidewalk within 12 hours of precipitation. So I've been dutifully performing this duty (I estimate over 600 times) my entire life.
But then I started doing my own research, like a responsible citizen. Snow removal is bad, folks. The risk of disc slippage from shoveling (especially at my age) is common. In fact, there are more injuries caused by shoveling snow than injuries caused by unshoveled walkways. Did you know that?
Snowblowing isn't any better. Air pollution, risk of falls, you could get your foot stuck in the rotor and lose one of your diabetic toes.
And salt? It kills pets. It kills your perfectly manicured lawn. It washes into streams and kills fish. It's bad.
Big government is taking away my freedoms, has done so my whole life, and I am just now realizing how fascist our country is. I want my freedom back. Thanks to Rumble.com for opening my eyes to this egregious restriction of my freedom.
@wildgrass saidThe weird thing is that your first argument is pretty compelling.

@wildgrass saidyou have the freedom to move south, you know, where we are wearing short pants and tee shirts.

@mott-the-hoople saidno thanks. It'll just be more of the same. You're wearing a tee-shirt but waiting for that orange hand on the pedestrian crossing sign before you can walk across the street.

We live in a fascist state.
@sh76 saidNo I'm working big to small. I'll get to vaccines once I'm finished with this much much larger issue of snow shoveling.
Anti-vaxxer
Snow shoveling causes 11,500 injuries per year, and that's probably a severely under-reported number because you're really going to work and telling your co-workers you broke yer back shoveling snow? No. Hang gliding. Show me the data on vaccine injuries being higher than that and we can talk.
@wildgrass
Why waste time doing your own research when you can simply trust the research done by profit-driven always-honest industry experts?
@wildgrass
Hey, it is so repressive here, maybe you should move to a REAL free country, maybe Afghanistan?
@wildgrass saidI have to wonder what the government is doing with your tax $$$$

@mghrn55 saidYou mean why aren't they shoveling my driveway for me? Because I live in a free 'Merica.
I have to wonder what the government is doing with your tax $$$$
My government buys useless tanks and planes and "can't tell you what we're doing" intelligence with my tax dollars and I love it. Unlimited defense spending = unlimited freedom. Didn't you know that?
@wildgrass saidI have a snow blower. There are different methods of snow removal. My snow blower is pretty safe if you use common sense.

@metal-brain saidI see them all shiny, lined up outside the hardware store every fall. How much did you pay for that thing? Follow the money, man. The lobbying group of big snow blower and, to a lesser extent, big shovel is the reason why these laws exist.

The end game is they want to control the weather.
