Maybe you should stop all your accusations, insults, threats and harrassing other people and start playing chess again.

It's a minor point, but for the record I've made 269 moves this month (#127 MAP) while you have made 44, so your advice would be better directed at the nearest mirror.

Maybe you thought I would check this information .... no, I wont ...

Start playing chess again No1 and stop your crusade for "Freedom of Speech". It has evolved from a masquerade to a ridiculous and annoying operetta.

It's certainly turned the Forums into the Snorums of late, that's for sure, people must be switching off in droves. Perhaps that's ultimately all they want, pety revenge for having a disruptive knob kicked off the site.

Why you decide to personalize this matter, I don't know, Exy. I asked a legitimate question, I'm patiently waiting for an answer, I'm not flamming or carrying on like another person in this thread. Your amateur psychoanalysis of me isn't very interesting or accurate; I'd just really like to know what I can or can't post as I am a regular poster. Why that inspires so much resistance from you I don't know and I'm not going to try to read your secret, "real" motives.

PS To Ivanhoe - No I never expect you to get the facts before or after you make one of your idiotic statements.

No.1 feel free to post whatever you like. If it offends people it will be alerted, moderated and potentially removed. Why oh why oh why are you wasting your time quibbling over one of your pathetic insults being pulled?! Give it up - get over it - and get a life - you are becoming tedious in the extreme!

This whole problem would be avoided if when a post is removed the person who's post was removed got a PM telling them that a post was removed, IDing the post, giving a brief explanation of why the post was removed and IDing a person to contact if they disagreed. I REALLY meant the title of this thread; I'd prefer to simply discuss it with whoever is responsible. The post itself isn't terribly important and I personally would have preferred if the my initial post in this thread was followed simply by a post from a mod explaining the removal. However, for reasons already explained, I posted publicly and was hoping for a response from a mod. Pretty much all I've got was the usual rubbish from you and Ivanhoe - which is pretty much what I expected when I posted publicly. So be it; I've asked a question, I want to comport with whatever standards the mods and Russ have in place and I'm asking for a clarification of what they are. If people want to take shots at me for doing so, go ahead it's a free(?) Forum and I won't even alert your post!

Wait a minute, I'm confused now. Did something change with the way Robomod was going to work? 2bit, you keep asking for the mod to explain himself or Russ but I thought the way it was working now was n number of people alert the post and it's gone no questions asked? Which is why I posted earlier about the way I saw things were going to be from now on, whose posts were going to be modded more the any others'.

Maybe I've missed something, I'll go check things out in site announcements and such.

That's actually a good question and I asked IF anybody was reviewing the decisions. I think there has to be some possibility of review or else why would Russ have put a text box in for when you alert? If it was just "n say so, so it's gone", the reason for the alert would be superfluous. So I guess I'm trying to find out that too.

Okay so the only thing I see that's different is the text box which I knew about since you all were discussing it here.

So. My opinion, not that you asked, but you know...

Enough people alerted your post 2bit, if the text box was up at the time they gave sufficient reason for the post to stay down. Not enough people alerted Wucky's post, hence it is not taken down, hence the decision hasn't had to be made whether it should stay down or not.

So back to my post earlier that doesn't seem to make much sense to me now that I see it after getting a little sleep but it gets the jist across- there's 2 insulting posts. One is deemed more offensive by the other because of which groups are alerting posts, hence yours goes down, Wucky's stays.

I see what you are saying, but it just doesn't work that way anymore. Mods are not going to mod posts that are not deemed offensive by n number of people. So, with that in mind, I don't think they are going to look at a thread to see if it is more offensive or just as offensive or whatever, because nothing else in the thread was shown to be offensive by enough people.

And I don't think it would work to say both of them should stay up because they are both offensive, like you said. Because then the post stays up and a person who alerted the post asks a mod why and the mod answers "because Wucky's post was just as offensive as 2bits, so it's not fair to take his down and leave Wucky's up". That would lead people to alerting more posts to make sure that the one they want down will go down, hence more hidden posts hence more moderation. And that wouldn't be good.

In the Thread "A Question for BBarr" on October 4, I was having one o ...[text shortened]... omod in the sky, what is the rationale for the post being removed?
But....

being a 2 bit lawyer, you feel compelled to make a notch on yer belt for freedom and the right way to think.

Silly. Animals are not people. As you should notice. Sticking up for the notion of the inverse... "People are just animals"... will not win. Silly argument.

I repeat. A two bit lawyer's word and wisdom is worth exactly what he proclaims it's value.
