"Notice how the contrary view is being marginalized as unscientific, uninformed and the product of the special interest groups. But nobody is supposed to question the wisdom of those on the U.N. side of the issue."
You know why? Because they're the experts, they're the guys who have doent he science, crunched teh numbers and know more about it than you or your politically motivated hacks. The report simply suggests bringing the editorial bias in line with the factual bias.

I am not old enough to remember, but from what I have heard, about 20 years ago they thought there would be an ice age.
I can't say I hate to play this card again... because i don't... but there is no real proof of global warming, sure a few places are getting warmer and yes we should be more considerate of our pollution but the earth is not going to end.. eventually it's gonna cool off again and they're gonna say it's an ice age...
all in all, the very worst thing that "could" happen is, we lose a few polar bears and the earth turns tropical.
I must agree with Der schwarze Ritter about this...
I also think global warming is a political scam

Also, only the loud minority of nut-job hippies are telling you the world will end. The scientific community in general simply says that the likliehood of drastic natural events and/or their strength will become more frequent/stronger, while most places are likley to get much wetter or much drier. Point is, just because it won't wipe out life, doesn't make it a good thing.
Don't get me wrong, I won't stop using cars, planes etc. I'm not suggesting we go live up the mountains and eat tofu. But I'll be responsible with my waste when I can and won't stick my head in the sand (like some) who'd rather believe that they live in a bubble completely detached from the world around them.
You don't need to be slefless to stop being selfish.

I said that and you said this...
"Before asking me to give up progress"
Did you even read what I had written or just made assumptions based on what you wish I had said to make your argument a little easier for you to swallow?

Think of the WoT like that cancert series AlGore does. Sure, they produce more carbon than they're saving, but they're trying to save the planet, so it's o.k.
