Anyone see the TV interview with GW Bush and those ten troops in Iraq? It was hilarious! You couldnt half tell that what the soldiers responded with was scripted. I later on found out that the ten troops were briefed on what Bush was going to ask and what they should answer with.
Bush was trying to drum up support for the war so the troops were told to say the Iraqi's are really looking forward to vote and give the impression that the Iraqi's were pro America. which is painfully obviously not true.
What a blatant shameful and idiotic display of media manipulation.
Originally posted by EsotericI saw it on C-SPAN. I couldn't stop laughing. I could see that it was obviously scripted (Even before I heard about the recording of the rehearsal). The one "token" woman in the group messed up so badly! Bush accidently stepped on her opening lines with an off-script question, she gave an awkward response and then repeated her opening statement verbatim!

And I howled every time a soldier passed the mic. Bush tossed a soft-pitch "stroke-my-agenda" question, and the soldier would respond with a handful of statistics and praise in that jolted monotone of some one reading a teleprompter. Then Bush would ask a second "stroke-my-agenda" question and the soldier would say "(Officer) So-and-so will respond to that question." Every time. Every single one.
I can't believe that they tried to pass that off as Bush just wanting to answer some of the troops questions. They didn't ask him a single thing! It was the worst manufactured political propaganda I've seen in my life. The sad thing is a lot of the ditto-heads out there are going to think that this was a great American moment for the President.
